A Call to Action: Cemetery Restoration Project in Honor of Our Fallen Soldiers
About the Project:
I Want To Mow Your Lawn Inc., in partnership with the State Representatives of PA, is on a unique and heartwarming mission. Our task? To restore a cemetery in Aston, PA 19014 – a historic site spanning approximately 8 acres. The challenge? Battling overgrowth, with some areas seeing grass and weeds rising to a staggering 5 feet! This vast landscape includes poignant sections like "Veterans Rows" and children's burial sites, currently consumed by nature.
View the Property:
To truly grasp the scale of work, watch this documentary about the property.
How You Can Help:
We urgently need volunteers - those with big hearts, string trimmers, and a way to get to the site. We're commencing our efforts on 9/30, with hopes to have the cemetery largely cleared by 10/28. Although we have a special service day on September 30th, given the extensive nature of the task, it's clear our efforts will span several days. From October 9th to 14th, there's also an exclusive collaborative event with the Navy.
Special Offer:
As a token of appreciation, the first 150 volunteers stepping up on September 30, 2023, will receive 2 Free Tickets to the Army/Navy Soccer Game on October 13, 2023. This generous gesture comes courtesy of Widener University, State Representative Carol Kazeem, and The 159th Veterans Day Committee. Plus, get ready for your moment in the spotlight! Media coverage is anticipated, and we'll be giving shout-outs to all those who lend their hands and hearts.
Post-Restoration Plans:
Once we conquer the overgrowth, the esteemed non-profit "Heroic Gardens" will take over, planting flowers to add beauty and reverence to this sacred space.
Join Us!
If you're available for our flagship service day or any other dates leading up to 10/28, please let us know. This is a rare opportunity to come together as a community, paying tribute to our fallen heroes and ensuring their resting places are treated with the respect and honor they deserve.
Ready to make a difference? Your community and your heart will thank you.

Our team is looking to add great people of integrity and passion to our Board of Directors who have hearts of service, are deeply connected to the mission of Legacy of Excellence Foundation (LEF), and wish to utilize their time, energy, and resources to help advance LEF's mission. Please find additional details regarding level of commitment, below:I. Time Commitment (in meetings):
Our regular meetings happen once a month (currently every fourth Saturday) for 75 minutes via Zoom. All LEF Board Directors are expected to attend each of these meetings. However, should an extenuating circumstance arise, preventing someone from attending a given meeting, we just ask that he/she give notice to the team as far in advance as possible and then be sure to review the minutes and notes, post-meeting.
II. Time Commitment (out of meetings):
All LEF Board Directors are expected to devote at least one hour per week to LEF, outside of regular meetings. This can entail an array of things, such as support with fundraising, board cultivating, marketing, creating/revising policy, etc. This particular time expectation may be slightly more, depending on the office you hold and/or committee(s) you are part of (we currently do not have any committees yet). For example, outside of typical modes of support, the Board Chair is expected to do a little more than everyone else (e.g., meet with the Founder regularly to strategize).
III. Financial Commitment:
While constituting only a small fraction of LEF’s general endowment, regular financial contributions from each Board Director are important. This practice ensures that each Board Director has “skin in the game” and that the organization has a predictable repository that it can rely on, apart from revenue generated from services offered at the project level (e.g., school fees). Seeing that the Board is active in procuring financial resources for LEF also helps to motivate external supporters (and potential grant/funding agencies who may wish to undertake due diligence) to give on behalf of LEF and its supported projects. As such, either by a.) solely contributing via personal donations, b.) solely contributing via external fundraising activities, or c.) contributing via a hybrid/combination of personal donations and external fundraising activities, each LEF Board Director is expected to raise financial contributions for LEF (and its projects) in the minimum total amount of $6,000 per year.
Each component above is fleshed out even more in our Charter/Bylaws and Processes & Procedures Manual in terms of rationale, specificity, etc.
