Your role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the event, whether it involves managing funds for games, raffles, donations, or any other financial activity during the evening.
As the Banker for the Ceren-Opoly Gala, you will play an important role in helping manage the flow of funds and ensuring that the financial aspects of the event are handled efficiently and securely. Your contribution will directly support the success of the event and the cause it serves.
3. Auction Monitor- We are seeking dedicated and attentive Gift Basket Monitors to help manage the display and distribution of our exclusive gift baskets during the Ceren-Opoly Gala. This key role is in ensuring our guests have a positive experience as they interact with the gift basket offerings, whether through silent auctions, raffles, or giveaways.
4. Food Handler- We are seeking an enthusiastic Food Handler to join our team at the Ceren-Opoly Gala, where your primary responsibility will be assisting guests with their buffet experience. This is an important role in ensuring that the event runs smoothly and that guests have an enjoyable and seamless experience.

Doors open for volunteers at 9:00 AM, and the event culminates at 1:00 PM CST.The Back-to-School Brigade is an annual nationwide campaign by Operation Homefront (run by the American Veterans Mission locally) that collects and distributes school supplies to eligible dependents of service members. Military children receive free back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, through this assistance program to help them start the new school year on the right foot.
This program is a crucial resource for military families facing financial hardship or other challenges as they navigate the back-to-school season. The high-quality backpacks we provide through the program ensure children have a durable and reliable backpack to carry their supplies. The program also includes a range of other school supplies, such as pencils, paper, and other essential items, to help children succeed in the classroom.

- help us organize events in support of evacuating people
- Can spread the word about our work to communities

- This volunteering requires virtually no skills other than a willingness to communicate with communities.

The annual New Vision for Independence Dining in the Dark event is a unique experience to raise awareness about blindness and raise funds for our local non-profit serving people of all ages with low vision or blindness and their families in Lake and Sumter Counties and The Villages. Attendees experience food, drink and conversation as they may never have before – without their sight. The meal will be served in complete darkness and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, as part of a training exercise, will serve guests while wearing their night vision goggles. Prior to the dinner, attendees enjoy the silent auction and cash bar. We need help setting up the event and staffing the silent auction.Available Shifts

We present the world’s finest music, theatre, dance, puppetry, acrobatics and storytelling, as well as creative arts activities for the entire family! We are dedicated to providing creative, diverse programming that engages and delights our young audience. Each year, volunteers, like you, contribute to the success of the Festival by helping us welcome 25,000 attendees! It is a huge endeavour and we could not do it without you.
Our shifts are typically 5-7 hours long, with a variety of roles.
There's something for every volunteer, such as creative arts, hospitality, ushering, administration, and more. We provide refreshments, standby performance tickets, onsite activity tickets, and references upon completing 21 hours of volunteering. Volunteers who work over 30 hours will get to partake in our prize draw!
We assign shifts to volunteers in the months leading up to the festival. You can indicate your availability/preferences through the volunteer application form.

Help support your local community of blood cancer patients & their families by volunteering at a shift of your choosing, or for the full event day experience at Light The Night.Dress comfortably and in layers. Positions can require long periods of standing, walking, lifting or bending.
Shift Opportunities:
- Pre-Event Set Up Role: responsible for setting up the event in its entirety before participants begin to arrive. This includes assisting with overall site set up, from moving boxes from supply truck to the tents, setting up tables, getting table covers/linens on tables, attaching signage, setting signage, unpacking & assembling lanterns, folding t-shirts, etc. Requires lifting, walking the site multiple times, and is a physical job.
- Event Volunteer Role: responsible for a tent or section of the walk site. This could include interacting with participants in our VIP and Mission areas, distributing t-shirts or lanterns, managing the Kid Zone activities, handing out and replenishing refreshments, etc.
- Post-Event Tear Down Role: Responsible for breaking down the event in its entirety after the participants begin to leave. Should be comfortable getting messy, and packing/lifting/moving boxes from the tents to the supply trucks. Duties may also include basic breakdown of lighting equipment, tables, chairs, signage and taking down flyers or other disposables. Ensure all trash and recycling is disposed of in the receptacles provided.

- At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night, we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!
