Take ONE day out of your busy schedule to volunteer and help address hunger right here in the Region. Join us for Pack to Give Back, on Thursday, September 10th at 6490 Broadway, Merrillville. To promote the highest level of safety and promote social distancing, the event will be staged outside. Your team will have an opportunity to sort and pack food boxes that will later be distributed during a special Mega Mobile Market Distribution, serving approximately 650 families. Your team will:

1. Choose one of our 2 time slots (9am – 11am or 1pm -3pm).
2. Wear company logo gear (a team photo will be part of the day).
3. Wear masks and agree to COVID-19 safety precautions.
4. Consider making a team/company donation to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Just $1 provides 3 meals for individuals and families struggling with hunger. All donations during the month of September will be matched by Strack & Van Til.
5. Share your photos from the day and tag the Food bank of Northwest Indiana using #MyHungerActionOne.

While making a significant impact in the community, you can also promote team building among your colleagues. Will you join us? Please select your time slot and the number that will be attending with your group.

On September 5th motorcycle riders from around the Region will participate in an 80-mile ride through the streets of Northwest Indiana, spreading awareness about hunger in our community and raising funds for hunger relief with every mile.

We are recruiting volunteers for this amazing event! Volunteers will be assisting with set-up, registration, crowd flow, food, parking lot and tear-down.

We will have 2 shifts for the day, you can sign up for one or both!

GFWC is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others thru volunteer service. GFWC Jr. Women's Club of Butler is a 501(c) 3, nonprofit organization. Our annual fundraiser was cancelled TWICE due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We still want to find a way to give back to our community nonprofit organizations, so we are holding the golf outing and hoping it is even more successful than it has been in the past! All proceeds will go towards Butler County community projects!!!

It enables you to become open -minded to different opinions, people and cultures. Most importantly, it will give children more choices when it comes to choosing further education. They will be free to choose which university they want to apply for, in which country depending on the language they speak. It will also be easier for them to participate in semesters abroad or an exchange program where they can study in another country. The ability to speak a foreign language is rated as an important skill in the world of work. Generally, people who are able to communicate in different languages have more advantages in life

The goal of this activity is to give teens in the community the opportunity to get tips on how to manage their life after high school.
We have a large teen volunteer program ranging from 9th through 12th graders that are looking to get involved with RMH of Charlotte.
There are lot of college ready teens will step into the real-world next year, and we want them to be prepared for it.
During this time of COVID, its hard to have that face to face mentor to help guide these young adults.
We would like to offer as a volunteer opportunity, an evening of hosting a panel of mentors to give advice on how to make sure that our teens are headed in the right direction. The focus will be on giving advice when it comes to getting ready for college life or jobs. Also, the mental preparedness that the teens will need to have when walking into the real world.
This is important to have because we have teen volunteers that we want to offer a different kind of support too, in lieu of volunteering in person. We believe that this opportunity will help them in the long run, instead of the causal volunteer hours that they receive afterwards.
The panel will be hosted on Zoom and will answer questions from the audience. This event will help our teen volunteer program and Kohl's tie together a meaningful relationship by being a virtual mentor.

Marin Community Clinics is seeking volunteers at our Health Hub food pantries. Most of our patients are low income families with socioeconomic and social stress. It is our priority to provide a safe, friendly, and culturally sensitive environment.

Health Hubs is an outdoor, community based, multicultural, and multilingual program that connects and engages more than 1000 people every week. Health Hubs provides access to healthy food and community resources that support the health and well-being of the community, regardless of race, age, income or place of residence.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis Health Hubs is following the CDC guidelines. Our goal is to strike a balance between keeping the community safe while also performing an essential service and getting food to those in need though our drive thru and walk up food pantry distribution. We reevaluate safety protocols daily. We maintain safe practices, reducing the risk of virus transmission by cleaning, practicing social distancing, and wearing facemasks.

Health Hub Volunteer shifts:
Wednesday’s at Marin Community Clinic (3110 Kerner Blvd, San Rafael): 11:30am – 3:30pm (shorter/longer depending on attendance and food supply)
Thursday’s at Marin Community Clinic (6100 Redwood Blvd, Novato): 11:30am – 3:30pm (shorter/longer depending on attendance and food supply)
Please note: Health Hub takes place outdoors, most often on the sidewalk or in a parking lot.
Volunteer service will include, but is not limited to, unloading and sorting food supplies, packaging and organizing food bags, distributing and recording food to the community, monitoring pedestrian and vehicle traffic, as well as site set up and clean up.

What to bring:
To further protect the health of volunteers and participants we are asking volunteers to bring:

Mask/facial covering (one-way valve masks are not acceptable)
Wear closed toe shoes
We will be outside, wear comfortable clothing (we recommend layers, a hat, and sunscreen due to the ever-changing weather conditions)
Be aware there will not be a place to store personal belongings, please do not bring valuables
Please bring a secure lidded water bottle and a snack
Volunteers must wear gloves at all times (provided by the Health Hub program at MCC)
We ask that any volunteer who does not feel well refrain from attending their volunteer shift
Volunteers should be able to lift 30 to 40 pounds
Length Health Hubs of food distribution is dependent on attendance – We currently provide food assistance to more than 1,000 people every week, but we do not know how many participants will arrive weekly or if they will all arrive early/late.
