The mission of the UCR Foundation (UCRF) is to support UCR philanthropically and manage the UCRF endowment. Strong leadership and participation from the UCRF Trustees are essential to realize UCRF’s mission.
UCRF provides fiduciary oversight of all donated resources for the advancement of UCR, including the investment of assets and the endowment spending policies (payout).
They develop and steward positive relationships with donors, alumni, and friends of the university (telling the story of UCR’s impact), promote a fundraising culture resulting in meaningful investments in support of the strategic priorities of UCR, including the generosity of board members’ individual contributions, personal and professional connections, expertise, and engagement with the University and donors.
Successful accomplishment of UCRF’s mission requires that its Board of Trustees functions as a fundraising board, to recognize and celebrate the service of those who have a history of contributions to UCR, and to provide opportunities for emerging UCR leaders to join the board.

De Gliphoeve is a cozy, accessible, green meeting place in the middle of Bijlmer-Oost. De Gliphoeve is a versatile neighborhood farm. Not only are recreation and education our
central goals, but being a safe haven in the neighborhood is just as important to us. We are a social workplace for (young) adults who are distanced from the regular labor market, mostly because of their disabilities.

Here is a task list of what we can ask of volunteers. We ofcourse take a volunteer's preferences into account but expect to do a variety of things:

- Animal care; feeding, grooming, brushing, topping up water and cleaning their stables or housing.
- Farm maintenance; gardening (watering plants, pulling weeds, planting flowers, tending to our vegetable garden, etc.) General cleaning, such as picking up trash and sweeping the ground, technical maintenance (small repairs, painting, etc)
- Second-hand shop: Helping in our second-hand shop. Opening and closing the store and sorting donations.
- Other: Whatever needs to be done at that moment, there is always something going on. We may ask for a little help here and there.

We are open 7 days a week, from 9 to 5. Volunteering could take place any day of the week for any hours! Whatever fits you best. We are open to one-time and regular volunteers.

We are always happy to welcome volunteers to our school and orphanage center close to Mombasa, Kenya, for a minimum of 6 weeks. If it is for children education, care taking, school projects or helping to build new facilities - every helping hand is needed.

Your role as a volunteer will vary based on your skills and interests.
Some of the possible duties include:
Teaching & Education: Assist in classrooms and support homework and tutoring sessions.

Childcare: Provide day-to-day care, including supervising playtime, organizing games, and offering emotional support to children of all ages.
