Volunteers will assist staff in preparing approximately 1,250 Save the Date cards for mailing by folding, labeling and sorting. Please note, shift times on April 24 are flexible. We will be tagging the rubber ducks with a number that corresponds with a purchaser so the winners can be identified in the race. This task does not take a lot of physical strength. Lunch will be provided.The Ken-Ducky Derby (KDD) is an annual fundraising rubber duck race held in Louisville, KY, and is an official Kentucky Derby Festival event. Every year, thousands of rubber ducks are dropped into the Ohio River and raced to the finish line.

JOIN US AT WATERFRONT PARK- APRIL 27 FOR THE 16th ANNUAL KEN-DUCKY DERBY!The Ken-Ducky Derby (KDD) is an annual fundraising rubber duck race held in Louisville, KY, and is an official Kentucky Derby Festival event. Every year, thousands of rubber ducks are dropped into the Ohio River and raced to the finish line.
We need volunteers to help sell ducks and merchandise, run errands, and help to scoop the ducks out of the water and clean up after the race. All volunteers will receive a Pegasus Pin that allows FREE admission to select Kentucky Derby Festival events and of course, free t-shirts.
It’s $5 to put a duck in the race. Each duck purchased changes the lives of individuals with disabilities at Harbor House of Louisville.

The annual ArtReach Exhibition is an exciting night for the students, families, staff and faculty of the Indianapolis Art Center focused on celebrating the students’ achievements of the year. Volunteers will help staff and faculty with various tasks for a fun and enjoyable night for all.As a volunteer for the ArtReach exhibition opening you will be assigned to one of the following roles:
-Greeting guests as they arrive to the Art Center
-Serving food and beverages to guests and families of the exhibition
-Representing the Art Center at tables with promotional materials
-Distributing and collecting surveys
-Various other needs during the event
The annual ArtReach Exhibition is an opportunity where student artwork is professionally presented at the Indianapolis Art Center for six weeks. The exhibition’s opening attracts hundreds of ArtReach students, their families and other caring adults to celebrate their accomplishments and to learn more about the Art Center and all it has to offer in a two-night celebration of the exhibition.
ArtReach is a program of the Indianapolis Art Center that has been providing 30 years of high-quality after-school and summer arts education to approximately 1,000 underserved students each year. At present, ArtReach operates in 20 schools and community centers around Indianapolis. Through twelve, two-hour sessions with professional Teaching Artists, ArtReach participants make art in a variety of media. Students also learn about artists throughout history to the present, understand how art works, how to talk about it, and to take part in constructive art criticism.
