Walk MS is a charity walk series that take place in over 550 locations with more than 330,000 people participating annually. We've been walking since 1988 and to date have raised more than $920 million to drive groundbreaking research, provide life-changing programs and guarantee a supportive community for those who need it most.

The success of Walk MS is directly related to the wonderful volunteers who help
make the event a great experience. We are generally looking for set-up, check-in, greeters, route support, rest stop help, photography, finish line celebration and tear down.

The 24th Annual Starlight Insurance Gala is just around the corner on Saturday, May 12th at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel and we are looking for volunteers.

We would LOVE it if you would consider joining us for this amazing volunteer opportunity for an evening of FUN, excitement and helping us execute an incredible event.

Starlight’s 24th Annual Insurance Gala

LOCATION: Fairmont Royal York Hotel, 100 Front St. W, Toronto, ON
THEME: Secret Garden
DATE: Saturday, May 12th 2018
ARRIVAL TIME: 3:00 PM
DEPARTURE TIME: 11:00PM - 12:00AM or earlier if required. Please let me know.

ROLES: We will host a brief on-site volunteer orientation. Training will begin once volunteers have signed in.

Registration Volunteers: Greeting guests, signing them in & letting them know which table they are seated at and handing out event programs, etc.

Photographer’s Assistant: Assists the photographer, helping arrange photos for guests, etc.

Silent Auction Volunteers: Monitors silent auction room, monitoring bid sheets (i.e., making sure guests are writing in the correct increments), answering questions, assisting the Starlight staff person designated to this station, brings auction sheets to winning bidder, etc.

Ballroom Volunteers: Assists in the wish auction, collecting payments (either on the POS [credit/debit] machine or with cash), collecting guest contact information, assisting the Starlight staff person designated to this station, helping sell and collect the “Book of Smiles” donations (this will be explained during training as well).

Raffle Volunteer: Selling raffle tickets, collecting payment of the raffle ticket(s) with a POS (credit/debit) machine or cash, reporting back to the Starlight staff person with raffle tickets and payment periodically, assisting the Starlight staff person designated to this station, etc.

Cash Out Volunteers: Accepting payment from guests for auction items (POS machine or cash), organizing the payment and reporting to the Starlight staff person designated to cash out, assisting the Starlight staff person designed to this station, etc.

Cash Out Runner Volunteers: Bringing auction items to cash out area, assisting Starlight staff person designated to this station, etc.

Please choose your preferred role and I will do my best to accommodate based on our numbers.
