Chengalpattu district has a huge Tribal and Dalit population there are marginalized people. Most of them stay in villages and are below poverty line. The people of Madurantakam Block mostly depend on seasonal farming and labour works for their income. In the past years, the income level has declined due to the inflation and Covid-19 pandemic. Vulnerability of the community comes from a high level of dependence on rain fed agriculture, which is least diversified, a cotton dominated mono cropped system that does not give enough income to farmers. Small land holdings, low agricultural productivity and low incomes have led to rising indebtedness to private money lenders and also leading to migration.
Running a family with shortage in income is a huge road block for them. The life of the tribal community is increasingly vulnerable due to lack of awareness on sustainable income generation activities to their resource base.
GVS has conducted meetings and held discussion with the community people to address this situation as an issue. After many meetings, the community people came up with a proposal for goat rearing. With an objective to make goat farming a sustainable livelihood among Tribals & Dalits, consent was obtained from villagers and GVS has approved the proposal and funded the beneficiaries for income generating project. GVS has provided them to purchase 3 goats each for 5 beneficiaries. Rearing of goat is easy and can be done by landless laborers, women and children because they can thrive well on variety of leaves, shrubs, bushes, kitchen waste etc. Goats have got increased digestibility of crude fiber and can produce even on poor quality roughages. Goats can be reared as a viable farming activity and may form source of livelihood and additional income for poor people in the villages. Goat farming will create substantial growth for the community and surely will ensure a regular cash flow.

The 2nd Annual Takedown the Tumor Nationals is a youth wrestling tournament in Omaha, Nebraska that benefits childhood brain cancer research through the Team Jack Foundation. We are in need of individuals to help with concessions throughout the day on January 28. The shifts would be 7:30AM - 1:00PM and 12:00PM - 5:30PM. All proceeds from the tournament as well as the concessions will benefit childhood brain cancer research.

MMCC is a nonprofit Danish organization inspiring challenged children and youth to discover their potential and take the lead in creating lasting cheerful societies.

Our “Social Circus” pedagogy is developed for disadvantaged children and youth of war where all the other pedagogies, training, and trauma therapies fail. The activities themselves can be anything from physical arts, challenging athletic and technical skills, and social games to even singing and painting together. However, the activities are implemented in such a way as to bring hope, joy, and a positive sense of belonging and solidarity.

We have achieved remarkable results in the last 20 years such as over 4 million live audiences in Afghanistan and we are planning to expand in countries such as Ethiopia. But we have not had the required resources for online fundraising either in Denmark or globally. We have some experiences and would like to share them with you and together both develop our online fundraising and connect with our fans to support our humanitarian work.

We are looking for volunteers to help expand the impact of our Foundation. We are one of the most cost effective and imactful Ocean cleanup organizations in the world. In 2 years we have collected and recycled over 1.4 million pounds with zero waste to landfill. We want to expand and help other areas to setup or improve their ocean plastic prevention programs. We have the systems, but we need your help and passsion for the ocean.

We are looking for unpaid volunteers for 1-4 months.
We can accept a wide range of skillsets including

Mechanical engineering - waste capture device design and improvements

Graphic Design - Content development and media for website and social media

Artist - We welcome sculptors, jewelers, painters, cartoonists, photographers, etc. If you have an artistic vision and would like to showcase ocean conservation and recycling themes we would like to work with you.

Teachers / course design - We work in schools and communities teaching them about sustainability, the environment and recycling.

Marketers - Help us build our online presence, reach bigger audiences and generate donations.

The opportunity is in Thailand, but we would consider remote volunteers as well.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.

The volunteer is responsible for travel, accommodation, and any visa requirements, etc.

Onsite volunteering would be minimum 30 day commitment.

Remote / part time volunteering is flexible and determined on a case by case basis.

Kids Fair is YFS' main annual fundraiser. This event takes place at The Monument in the Rushmore Hall and Barnett Arenas with numerous large inflatable attractions, giant sandboxes, heavy equipment on display as well as many local vendors with activities at each booth! Caramel Connections Foundation (CCF). CCF is small but mighty. With the support of our board, volunteers, and Community Partners such as Kohl's Cares, IEHP, Anthem Blue Cross, SB Supervisor Curt Hagman, and the City of Ontario Community Life and Culture Department CCF has been uplifting and edifying Southern California since 2016. 

In 2020 the City of Ontario partnered with CCF by giving us an acre to create a community garden. The CCF Seeds of Joy Community Garden project serves systemically marginalized communities. Caramel Connections Foundation's mission is to come alongside the Inland Empire's most under-resourced communities to improve social equity and help combat food insecurity. CCF is tackling obesity and heart disease by bringing fun to fitness and sparking a love of organic gardening and healthy eating.

The main goal of this opportunity is to help Tanzania Eco-Tech and Conservation Hub (TEACH) mobilize financial and non-financial resources to drive the On-the-job Technical Training Course and help create an Online Learning Hub for marginalized and voiceless groups including young men and women, and people with special needs (PWSN) in Tanzania. The end result should be improved living standard of people and decreased community's dependency ratio through enhanced self employment and nature-based solutions (best practices).

Participant should have access to learning materials and platform whereby TEACH resolves this challenges by creating an affordable pathway for all to get access to productive skills while performing their daily chores especially by offering free learning space and materials.
