Girl Scouts of Central Illinois proudly presents its 15th Diamonds & Desserts, its signature event to raise awareness and funds in the greater Decatur area, at the Country Club of Decatur on Thursday, September 8, 2022. We are so fortunate to gather again around our lucky Flora Gems Sweet Surprise Wall, delicious cookie-inspired desserts competition among local chefs, and sincere recognition of our honoree.

And we are so fortunate to recognize Kevin Breheny, Past President/Senior Producer of J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds Division within First Mid Insurance Group, as our 2022 Diamond Honoree. Without a doubt, the previous 14 years of this signature event would not have been as successful without his signature voice to amplify the Girl Scouts mission.

As a volunteer you will be teaching 5 activity-based lessons in one day to the same class.

All lessons and activities are provided with step by step instructions.

Junior Achievement’s programs bring volunteers from the community to inspire young people to dream big and reach their potential. Classroom volunteers will teach 5 activity based 30-45 minute lessons on how to be smart with their money and how to think like entrepreneurs and how to get ready for the workforce.

Junior Achievement will teach you how to prepare for your lessons along with class management to ensure a positive classroom experience.

4th grade "Our Region" features how entrepreneurs use resources in their region to sell their services or goods to their customers.

We are excited to host the fifth annual Cookies & Cocktails on Thursday, August 25 at 5:30 p.m. at Panther Creek Country Club. This unique event features a creative culinary competition where talented local chefs create a variety of delectable desserts incorporating our very own Girl Scout cookies!

All attendees will have the pleasure of tasting these amazing desserts and local celebrity judges will select their favorites for the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice Awards. In addition to the sweets, this delightful evening includes savories, a signature cocktail, silent auction, raffle and opportunities to win other prizes!
