Imagine spending the holidays in an unfamiliar place, far from home, after escaping an abusive situation. For many families, this is their reality. The holidays, a time meant for joy and connection, can feel isolating and uncertain.

Santa’s Shack, a cherished in-shelter event hosted by Hagar’s Heart, transforms this difficult season into one of warmth, dignity, and love. While parents take time to process and begin healing, their children are cared for by compassionate volunteers in a festive, joy-filled environment.

At Santa’s Shack:

Children choose and wrap gifts for their parents
They create holiday crafts, play games, and enjoy snacks
Families receive holiday trees and gifts from wish lists
Everyone leaves feeling seen, valued, and loved

Opportunity Details

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our CRPS Awareness Project as Interviewers.
In this role, you will help to share the voices of individuals affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a rare and debilitating chronic pain condition.

Your interviews will play a vital part in raising awareness, educating the public, and fostering a supportive community for those impacted by CRPS.


Responsibilities:
Conduct interviews with individuals affected by CRPS (patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals) in a sensitive and respectful manner.
Record and/or document personal stories and experiences as part of a storytelling initiative to raise awareness.
Ensure confidentiality and empathy throughout the interview process.
Work closely with the Fight the Flame team to ensure the stories are shared effectively through our platforms (e.g., website, social media, newsletters).
