Humans in the Loop is an award winning social enterprise consisting of a charitable foundation and a for-profit company. Our shared mission is to provide a diverse group of conflict-affected and displaced people with access to career development support, upskilling and remote work. To date, we provided such opportunities to more than 1400 conflict-affected people in Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen, Portugal, Ukraine, Moldova, Kenya, and the DRC.

When people are displaced due to conflict, they are often forced to leave their jobs and struggle to access work in their new location. They can be forced to take insecure or unsafe work and face barriers to dignified employment, such as language, childcare responsibilities, or simply lack of knowledge about what opportunities are available. We see a strong demand from people to take courses with us, to receive support in upskilling, and to access flexible and meaningful employment.

We are looking for mentors and volunteers, to support our community to develop their English skills and contribute to their professional development through sharing expertise and creating supportive spaces for professional communication in English.

We are also open to volunteers who can support us on a pro-bono basis in areas such as developing our HR practices, business analysis and development, and other key areas that can support us to develop our good practices and ensure we make the biggest impact possible.

All tech nonprofit leaders must work to attract customers, donors, media, and volunteers. To do that well, they need to communicate clear vision, impact, and action - skills that many of them have yet to perfect. Luckily, as skilled tech company employees, Twilio volunteers are in a unique position to help these tech nonprofit leaders thrive.

As a volunteer at Fast Forward’s Pitch Camp, you will lend your expertise to nonprofits building tech for good. You will meet with three tech nonprofit leaders via video chat during the 90-minute event. During that time, you will help them hone their storytelling strategy by offering feedback on their pitch. A short orientation will be provided at the start of the event; volunteers need not prepare in advance.

Twilio has teamed up with Fast Forward, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the best tech is applied to our biggest social problems. We will be matching members of our team with tech nonprofit leaders for this Pitch Camp event on December 10.

Interested in participating? Sign up for this opportunity to be added to the list! A member of the Fast Forward team will follow up with event details and day-of logistics.
