We are seeking 20 - 40 volunteers to assist with our 2019 Golf Tournament. This event raises funds to support our mission: To improve the lives of all affected by autism in Los Angeles County by empowering individuals with autism, their families, and professionals through advocacy, education, support, and community collaboration. 1 in 59 children is now diagnosed with Autism so our efforts are essential.

This volunteer event will include setup, managing golf hole with activity and breakdown on November 11 2019.

The KidsZone area of the show provides affordable wholesome entertainment for the entire family. Kids Zone provides a safe and stimulating environment for physically active children aged 12 and under to play and explore. Kids Zone’s volunteers provide manned activities while challenging them to reach, think, interact, explore, and have fun. Some activities include face painting, bean bag game, coloring, etc...

Who – Upon arrival volunteers are to meet a WOCA staff member at the WOCA Information table

Job Descriptions

Registration assistant – Volunteers will help with the process of participants checking in. They will check if the participant is registered by last name and if so then give them their race materials. Some volunteers will also assist with the process of new participants signing up the day of the race.

Food Station– Volunteers will help organize the food and monitor it while participants are finishing.

​Course Marshal – Course marshals will be placed on the course (in pairs of two minimum) and help direct the participants so they run the correct way. Here we ask the volunteers to be as enthusiastic as possible encouraging the runners to have a good time.

​Water Station – Volunteers assigned to the water station will fill up cups of water and help distribute them to passing participants.

​*Volunteers will more than likely work more than one job throughout the event. Also, there will be
more jobs than listed above, those are the most typical.

Notes
- Volunteers should sign-in upon arrival to keep track of volunteers in attendance.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather. Check the forecast prior to arrival of the event.
- Volunteers are there not only to help but to have fun!
