Volunteers are requested by the Foundation Fighting Blindness to assist with event operations at our 8th Annual Hampton Roads VisionWalk this spring. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to help people of all ages and participate in a day of celebration for the visually impaired community! Volunteers will be asked to perform various tasks including: equipment set-up/breakdown, registering participants, distributing food and event giveaways, assisting children's performers, cheering on/guiding participants along the route, etc. Won't you come join us?

Opportunity Details

Development Director role is critical to PawsCo, as it allows the team to help as many animals as possible. PawsCo is looking for someone who is interested in helping to raise funds and awareness for the organization and work closely with the founders and Board of Directors to prepare campaigns, provide donor appreciation, and join the leadership on funding asks.

PawsCo Development Team Outline (possible activities):

• Crowdfunding campaigns for animals in need: help PawsCo put together and push out crowdfunding campaigns for emergency situations and special surgeries for dogs and cats in our care.

• Donor dinners: help plan a couple dinner parties a year! We’ll invite current donors to share updates on PawsCo and encourage them to bring new people who may also be interested in learning about PawsCo.

• Wags & Whiskers Soiree: planning for the major PawsCo fundraising event held in Fall 2019. Committee work includes procuring the silent auction, event planning and logistics, and ticket promotion, etc.

• Birthday & Facebook giving campaigns: run point on helping people remember to host Facebook giving campaigns on their birthdays. Help provide materials and ideas to support this effort. Follow up after campaigns to thank the host and get the donor names to thank.

• Volunteer Giving Club: help us jumpstart getting volunteers activated to give $5, $10, $20 a month for prizes and other incentives. With 300 volunteers, we could make $36,000 a year if everyone gave $10 a month!

• Colfax Marathon: support Colfax runners and walkers in their pursuit of fundraising for PawsCo through their Colfax race. This could include fun events, providing people with stories to share in their fundraising, communicating with runners, etc.

• Prospect development: help us identify corporations, foundations, and people who may be interested in giving.
