Every year, our Club leadership needs help bringing the stored event equipment and auction items down from our administrative offices to a UHAUL we use to transport them to the Boise Centre on the Grove. Then, after the event, we do the same thing in reverse to get whatever items were not taken back to their spot for auction pickup or storage. It's an easy way to help while getting a little exercise and means a lot to our team to have support as we prepare for a 1,000-attendee event downtown. The event preparations take over six months, so we love the energy that accompanies support, all to benefit Ada County youth.

Things to keep in mind:
• Wear comfortable clothes for walking and lifting. Gloves are optional but can be nice to have.
• Watch for sharp or broken objects as well as pinch points when lifting heavy objects as safety is a first priority for this and all other Club events.
• Lift with your legs, not with your back. If an item is heavy, get a partner to help.
• Take your time and carry each item with care as they all have monetary value and breakage results in avoidable complications with this auction event.
• When loading the UHAUL, the largest items must go in first, followed by smaller square items, and then finally, the odd-shaped silent auction items. We facilitate the process, but it helps to know this when working as a team.

Volunteer Workdays occur monthly at local nonprofits. Our goal with Volunteer workdays is to team build with our volunteers, meet new volunteers, give back to our community, and help local organizations in need with volunteer power. We help local sanctuaries and community gardens complete projects, while donating supplies during our workdays.

We are looking to recruit volunteers to participate in our Volunteer Workdays to provide the biggest impact possible for our local nonprofits. Volunteer workdays occur the second Saturday of each month between 9am and 1pm. After working hard, we meet at an area vegan establishment to unwind and have a much-deserved meal!

To participate at our next Volunteer Workday, sign-up on our website at: https://www.txveg.org/volunteerworkdays.
