We believe in encouraging student involvement in appreciation of, and support for artistic endeavors and fostering the development of artistic abilities.
The goal of our FREE Fine Arts Festival is to bring professional artists to the Festival in order to expose our students and communities to the fine arts, stimulate higher quality art education in our schools, inspire fine art educators to promote, plan, and host our annual fine arts festival and act as a means for students and their families to come to a better understanding and appreciation of a fine arts education. During our 6 hour span, we see close to 3,000 guests, it takes many volunteers to help support our mission.

Opportunity Details

At Capital One/ Junior Achievement Finance Park each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.

Josanne Francis is coming to Meade High School to perform with the schools Steel Drum Band. The concert is being held at the school on Wednesday May 8th.
We really need help a the ticket booth, concession stand, ushers, setup and cleanup as well as at the VIP dinner before the concert.

Opportunity Details

My students need your help to be successful at the International DECA competition. You are invited to come listen to their presentations and review their research papers that they have prepared to compete in a business and marketing competition. They are nervous and need to work out the bugs before competing in April. They need your feedback and advice. They will be competing against 18,000 students from around the world in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a life changing experience for my students. They need your help to prepare. This will be a fun volunteer opportunity! Thank you so much!

Opportunity Details

Bayside Bargains is a garage style event designed to raise funds for students to to t the state FEA event.
Kohl's volunteers will walk around helping customers with prices, keeping the tables neat in appearance and organized, condensing the items as they sell down, help bag items or ring them up, and help them out to their cars if they have big, heavy, or many items. The other part of their support would be to mentor with the students from my class to help them with all of the important retail skills that they are learning during this event.
