At Capital One/ Junior Achievement Finance Park each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.Available Shifts

This is a position which request a financial participation. Each week we invite children from the local underprivileged schools to stay at DAKTARI. We take between eight at a time, which provides a unique opportunity for them to benefit from a more individual learning experience.
As all the children come from underprivileged backgrounds we only charge them a minimal fee of R 20 for their stay.
You will be teaching these children. We believe that education is the only way to a better future, and therefore we have developed an educational program with special focus on the environment and wildlife. We have included lessons in life skills about relationships, substance abuse, safe sex, violence and respecting your environment.
Many of these children have not had the opportunity to learn about wildlife and therefore we encourage interaction with wild animals in order to stimulate a sense of responsibility for their heritage.
A very important aspect of DAKTARI is the wildlife orphanage. We care for animals that are hurt, orphaned or too tame to be rehabilitated into the wild. We provide them with good facilities, care and love. They also serve as a great education medium for the children who assist in the daily care, cleaning and feeding of these animals.
Because we cannot always guarantee having children at DAKTARI due to either the school holidays OR exam periods; DAKTARI will also periodically welcome local unemployed youths to the camp for our Job Hunting Programme. During these weeks they learn the skills they would need to find a job.
Indicated price:
1 week 590 Euros
2 weeks 1 090 Euros

We are constantly reaching for volunteers to connect with children living in orphanages around Bulgaria. This mentorship programme is crucial for the kids as this is how they learn new things, life lessons or anything else a volunteer could provide. Every volunteer has something to tell to a child - about work, or skills, about career choices, ups and downs, about stubbornness or simply about love.We have been doing this for 8 years now and although there is not a direct connection between children's success and our friendship-mentor programme, kids develop much better than when left alone.
We fundraise in order to be able to travel to the children and befriend the many volunteers travelling mainly from Sofia to around 20 orphanages in Bulgaria. We do this every weekend, every month for 8 years now and although we do not promise the children that we will come back, we always do.

Project ECHO's High School Entrepreneurs' Business Plan Competition simulates the real-world process of entrepreneurs soliciting start-up funds from investors. More than 300 teens will participate in this annual start-up competition and executive level Judges are needed to help evaluate their team business presentations.Judges will act as venture capital investors deciding on which business they'd most likely fund. The quality of the idea, the strength of the management team, and the clarity and persuasiveness of the oral presentation are the criteria that determine each judge's decision. Each panel of judges will evaluate 7-10 business teams, which means listening to a formal 10-minute presentation, participating in a Q&A with the team, and then scoring each team accordingly on ECHO's cloud-based system.
The 2025 competition will be hosted at CSU, Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles with some teams pitching virtually on Zoom.
Requirements to be considered as a Judge: You must be able to serve in person. In addition, ECHO recruits a diversified pool of executives from various industries to serve as judges. Interested volunteers must have at least 10 years of professional work experience and have served in leadership roles accountable for managing teams of employees. Judges should be compassionate individuals who are innately interested in supporting the personal and career aspirations of young adults who are preparing to graduate from high school and are focused on discovering their career goals. Your feedback matters!
