Working with our Chair, you’ll review our current website – layout, format, functionality – to make recommendations to improve its end-user experience, improve its SEO, and enhance its safety and security.

- Review the current design of the website; make recommendations for improvement that are sustainable beyond your involvement and expertise
- Recommend methods and technologies that could make our web presence more interactive
- Improve the security and safety of our website
- Ensure our site is accessible
- If needed, enhance our website performance and speed

You Are
- Generous with your knowledge and expertise, and patient in your communication
- Skilled in working with HTML, Javascript and Java
- Proficient in front end web development, with solid back end web development knowledge
- Competent in SEO practices
- Capable of working in our WYSIWYG web development interface, Wix
- Able to implement your recommendations, once approved, or help us find someone who can

Key to our sustainability success is our student sponsorship program. Individuals and organizations that contribute a minimum gift amount each year are eligible to be matched with one of our students. These special donors are provided a photo update of their student three times during the school year, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Updated photos and profiles of each student are obtained from our school personnel in Haiti.

Your Tasks
- Maintain our current list of sponsors and the details of their student match
- Obtain updated photos and student information from our personnel in Haiti, in preparation for sending sponsor updates
- Creatively craft and send updates for sponsors for the Fall, Winter, and Spring updates using MailChimp

You Are
- Comfortable using web-based platforms; familiar with MailChimp or similar cloud-based marketing software
- Able to work with visual software mediums like Adobe Photoshop, Ribbet, and/or Canva
- Solid written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and write compelling as the updates are a means for our donors to connect with our work in Haiti
- Willing to work in a remote team setting and meet deadlines

Your Tasks
- Develop a social media calendar (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Develop content for our social media platforms, in collaboration with our branding team member
- Identify metrics to evaluate impact of posted content
- Advise on best practices and share your knowledge and expertise

You Are
- Savvy on social media platforms – you know the best content to create and how to create it (or can guide someone else)
- Creative in telling a story through visual mediums
- Comfortable with a variety of photo/editing platforms, or a quick learner on new ones

Judges are tasked with reviewing the submissions and providing evaluations based on the NFTE WSI rubric. Each submission will be evaluated by multiple judges to ensure parity and all scores will be averaged to establish the ranking of entries and determine the ten finalists. Judging Window: Monday, January 15, 2024 through Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours, you will have the option to sign up for the date and time that works best for you once you express interest in the volunteer opportunity. Please note you will have from January 15, 2024 through January 26, 2024 to evaluate the submissions at your own pace.

*PLEASE NOTE: Although judging may take you 2 to 3 hours total, it does not need to be done all at once. You can save your progress as you work; you will have 11 days to complete your scoring. First round judging begins on January 15 and ends on January 26. However, for tracking and data purposes, we need you to select a 3-hour time window. Once you have registered as a judge, NFTE will send you prep materials, a confirmation email, and calendar invite. A few days before the judging window opens, the NFTE Team will send you login credentials for the judging platform.

We need volunteers to supervise and mentor participants in our after school riding program. Havenwood Equestrian Center teaches underprivileged teenagers to develop confidence, strength, and direction by learning to work with horses at our beautiful Montgomery County riding facility. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we offer a free after-school program for high school students that combines horseback riding, animal care, academic tutoring, and adult mentorship. Our vision is to provide an enriching environment in which participants can discover their best selves and move confidently toward a bright future.

2. Mobilisez le réseau des marraines de l'académie autour de cafés / déjeuners / réunions pour échanger et partager les bonnes pratiques.
3. Organisez des visites de sites pour les binômes Marraine-Filleule.

L'engagement vaut pour une année scolaire :
-animation des ateliers: environ 1 jour
-réunions/cafés avec les marraines : entre 2 à 3 jours.

1. Témoignez de votre métier, de votre parcours professionnel, dans les ateliers collectifs organisés dans les lycées partenaires.
2. Ouvrez les portes de votre entreprise à votre filleule : découverte du monde du travail, initiation à ses codes, information sur des secteurs et métiers d’avenir, aide à l’orientation sur Parcoursup.
3. Encouragez, accompagnez votre filleule dans la construction de son projet d'avenir.
4. Aidez à la rédaction du CV de la filleule et de sa lettre de motivation, à la recherche d'un contrat d’apprentissage.

L'engagement débute à partir de septembre :
· Mentorat individuel : environ 3 jours par an.
· Ateliers collectifs (2h) : 1 à 2 ateliers/an.
