Songea's Kids is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization based in the Seattle, WA area. We provide nurturing homes, food, clothing, health care and education to orphans and vulnerable children in one of the poorest regions of southern Tanzania. We are seeking a volunteer with experience in developing and implementing multi-media communications strategies to share our stories, impact and needs with current donors and to attract new donors to our cause. This is a critical role in our organization that helps us to expand our reach so that we can build hope, transform lives, and break the cycle of poverty for orphans vulnerable children and their communities.

Your Next Steps - US connects people with mentors to help them reach their goals, understand their passion/If you have experience and insights to pass on, you can help by accompanying and mentoring them in their journey. We usually expect 1-2 per month. The goal is for the mentor to share their story about their career. How they started, where they are now, and where they want to finish. This will help the students understand the multitude of careers and paths before making a decision on a college and a degree.
We match interested students with mentors in that industry or career.

We are currently looking for volunteers for our Youth Leadership Seminar. This event invites 1,200 Tri-State high-schoolers to hear from local leaders and to discuss service challenge projects focused on making an impact in their communities.This is a fun, high energy event, and we can't wait to see you!
The 2023 Seminar will be held on Wednesday, October 25th at Crossroads Mason from 9am-1:30pm. We are looking for Volunteers for the event! You can volunteer all day (Preferred) OR come help us lead one of our Breakout sessions!
What Will I Be Doing?
Volunteer roles range from registration to facilitating breakout sessions. Breakout session leaders will help facilitate a conversation and seek to encourage, inspire, and motivate tomorrow’s leaders to apply the knowledge and skills they learn while attending Youth Leadership Seminar to give back to their community. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and you will also receive an event t-shirt.

Project Yumi will be packing a 40ft container over two days, Friday 30th September & Saturday 1st October. We are inviting corporate teams to help us make a difference by volunteering a couple of hours of their time on Friday 30th September from 9.30-1.30.All educational items packed will be delivered to rural schools in Papua New Guinea.

JA BizTown is a simulated city where fourth through sixth graders experience hands-on workplace, business, and personal finance challenges. After a few weeks of in-classroom curriculum, students are selected for a job and spend a day at the JA facility taking on the role of a real-world professional. The fun, immersive atmosphere inspires teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making skills for each student.After participating in a comprehensive, in-school curriculum, students come to JA BizTown to get a taste of the real world of work through applied, hands-on learning. As a volunteer, you guide students through the day, offering your firsthand knowledge and expertise to enhance their experiences. Each day, a team of 15-20 volunteers helps students have a meaningful JA BizTown experience. JA staff are also on-site to lead the simulation. Online training is required prior to your JA BizTown visit. In addition, volunteers arrive early on simulation day for hands-on instruction.

Visions for Children benötigt langfristige Unterstützung im PR-Bereich! Dabei suchen wir unter anderem einen Social Media Support für Instagram / TikTok. :)Deine Aufgabe wäre es, immer eine Woche im Monat 2-3 Beiträge und Stories für Visions for Children zu posten - vorwiegend abends. Es geht dabei vor allem um das Posting bereits fertiger Inhalte. Der Zeitaufwand liegt dabei schätzungsweise bei 5 Stunden pro Woche. Die Mindesteinsatzdauer würde 3 Monate (also etwa 15 Stunden) betragen. Wir freuen uns aber natürlich umso mehr, je länger wir dich einen Teil unseres Teams nennen dürfen!
Das bringst du idealerweise mit:
- Aktive Nutzung und Spaß an den Plattformen Instagram und TikTok
- Erfahrung im Management eines professionellen Instagram- / TikTok-Accounts
- Vertrautheit mit den Möglichkeiten und Tools, insb. in der Erstellung von IG Stories
- Interesse an den Themen Bildungsgerechtigkeit, Entwicklungszusammenarbeit, Uganda, Afghanistan + Vertrautheit mit relevanten Stimmen (insb. auf IG) in den jeweiligen Bereichen

Volunteer with 826DC:Volunteers help us support 2,500 DC students each year! Volunteers* craft and lead original writing adventures, both in our space and in classrooms across DC. They support publishing projects and book releases, offer edits, provide homework help, bring student stories to life, and even levitate wands and design products in our storefront.
Note: *All 826DC volunteers must be 18 or older and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination is required before you can join us at an 826DC program.
HOW TO GET STARTED:

2. We’ll email you and invite you to a virtual volunteer orientation.
3. Start the DCPS clearance process (don’t worry, we’ll explain this at your orientation).
