Lighthouse Relief is seeking volunteers with experience in Web Design, SEO or Graphic Design to provide support to our Communications & Fundraising team in improving our web presence, visibility, and creating a new version of our website.

As a small, grassroots organisation based in Greece, remote volunteers make an enormous impact on our ability to maintain a strong web presence, and to share our work with potential and existing donors. Remote volunteers will have the opportunity to help us with redesigning our website and providing insight and support with SEO, directly enabling LHR to continue providing psychosocial support in Ritsona Refugee Camp, and emergency support in Athens.

The Boz Life Science Research and Teaching Institute is a nonprofit in San Diego, CA. Students in our research immersion program gain experience from hypothesis development, field work, designing and running experiments, collecting and analyzing data, to communicating their results. The Spring Symposium marks the students’ program graduation and an opportunity for them to present their research.

This Spring, students will present their research on ecological risk assessment of sediments in the Tijuana River Estuary (TRE), an important ecosystem and infamously polluted site in San Diego, CA. Using the California Purple Sea Urchin, students assessed the effects of chemical pollution on sensitive invertebrate embryos developing in TRE sediments collected at four sites during dry and wet weather events. Our students are thrilled to have the chance to present their work to you!

The seminar is estimated to last 1 hour and 15 minutes. Students' presentations will be followed by a Q&A session. The students are eager to answer questions, so please ask them! Beyond Q&A, you are welcome to share information on career resources and provide relevant career advice.

Email christine@bozinstitute.org your interest in attending.

We inspire youth to become active participants in their own futures. We are committed to providing high-quality accessible STEM programs to all students especially females, people of color, and youth from underserved neighborhoods.

For every two students in a class, there is a mentor as a resource and guide. The mentors are real world practitioners, using skills that they have learned in the CS and STEM fields, to help advance students’ knowledge in these subject areas. This also creates community-building capacity because we encourage open conversations on what the STEM field is and what it looks like to be a professional in the field, encouraging students to find their own path. Our mentors are passionate about helping the next generation of STEM leaders, ensuring that the future of STEM leadership is rich in diversity and talent.

Your participation allows us to bring our programming courses to young people who might not otherwise be able to participate. We rely on the generosity of volunteers like you to achieve our mission, and we are sincerely grateful.
