Opportunity Details

The Backpack Run is a professionally timed 5k/10k fundraiser for The Backpack
Program at Indian River CSD. In the past three years this event has raised over $10,000 to support The Backpack Program. Every week of the school year The Backpack Program sends a backpack full of food home with a student in need- not only does this support the nutritional needs of local families but this effort makes a huge difference in a child’s ability to focus, learn, and develop. Kohl’s team members looking to give back to the community by joining us as volunteers at this event not only ensures a smooth and organized 5k/10k but also helps provide a positive atmosphere and creates a high quality event for this fundraiser. We really enjoyed having Kohl's with us last year at the Backpack Run helping with t-shirts and post race food- we would love to have you with us again this year! This event will take place rain or shine so please come prepared to be comfortable. Feel free to stick around after the event to enjoy the Theresa Fall Festival!

The Conquest Marching Band Competition is hosted at Allatoona High School in Acworth, GA. The Conquest will feature a marvelous array of marching bands from around the Region competing for the grand championship. Volunteer opportunities are for 3 hour shifts and include concessions, ticket sales, and logistics.

Zealousness features articles, opinion pieces, and pedagogic advice from our team of writers. Our online magazine and blog are accessible to students, educators, and parents and serve as an additional educational resource. Join our team; we are looking for people like you:

• Passionate about writing (write a minimum of 1 article per month)
• Thorough with researching the facts for their article(s)
• Excellent at and have communication skills
• Familiar with (and/or willing to learn about) the Chicago Manual of Style and basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) knowledge to use keywords and draft meta descriptions (article summary)
• Creative and knowledgeable about various education-related topics
• Able to commit and work with our team of editors
• Able to meet quarterly deadlines.

Advocates for Adolescent Mothers Educational Empowerment Program (EEP) provides financial and emotional support to young mom college students. Participants attend full day workshops throughout the academic year which covers topics that helps the young moms better manage the role of mom and college student.

We are seeking outreach coordinators to assist us in recruiting young mom high school and college students.
