The Breathe Youth Media Awards (BYMAs) engage local teens in fighting the glamorization of tobacco use in popular media. At our annual ceremony, Sacramento's future leaders recognize the films which most realistically portray the dangers of tobacco use or most grossly encourage it. The awards are based on data from our internationally-recognized Thumbs Up! Thumbs Down! tobacco research program. The BYMA ceremony is the region’s premier teen anti-tobacco awareness event. The event brings together 350+ students, dancers, choreographers, families, businesses, and elected officials each year. Following the awards ceremony, attendees are invited to join us for an all-inclusive after-party with free food, games, dancing, music, and prizes.
