As a tournament judge you can directly facilitate the tournament experience for new debaters, whether or not you have prior debate or judging experience. If you can bring professionalism, positivity, and respect then you can be a great judge. Every volunteer judge allows for 4 more students to participate.Judges watch the debate round, evaluate teams on logic, effective argumentation, and speaking skills. They pick a winner and assign speaking points to individual students and provide written and oral feedback on their decision. At a debate tournament, each debate round is approximately 1.5 hours with approximately 10 minutes between rounds. Each tournament will host a minimum of 3 rounds, but may expand to accommodate student entry.
The time commitment varies and you can judge some, or all, of the rounds. We will work with you to be flexible with your schedule, as you are doing a great service for the students in our program. Each new judge volunteer will be trained (approximately two hours) in advance of a tournament. You will learn about the norms of high school debate, including debate evaluation, the style of the activity, and how to make effective and informed decisions.

Teach One, Heal One is a powerful virtual mentorship initiative that connects experienced professionals with individuals seeking guidance, support, and inspiration in a specific career field or skill. The project is built on a simple yet profound belief: when you teach one person, you help heal the challenges and doubts that hold them back—and in doing so, you create lasting change.Whether someone is just starting out, navigating a career transition, or trying to overcome barriers in their professional journey, a caring mentor can make all the difference.
This initiative is open to everyone—youth, adults, and seniors—without discrimination of any kind. Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where knowledge is transferred, confidence is built, and dreams are reignited.
How It Works:
Volunteers are matched with individuals who are interested in their field of expertise—whether it's healthcare, tech, education, business, trades, creative arts, or another area.
Mentorship sessions are held virtually via phone, video calls, or chat.
Mentors may offer:
Career guidance and industry insights
Skill development tips
Resume and job prep support
Confidence-building and motivational conversations
Referrals to resources or further training
The time commitment is flexible.
Why This Matters:
Many individuals have the passion but lack access to role models, professional networks, or real-world insights. Others are isolated, discouraged, or stuck in survival mode. Your guidance could help someone start a career, gain clarity, avoid mistakes, or find purpose again.
When you teach one, you don’t just transfer knowledge—you heal uncertainty, unlock potential, and change lives.
We’re Looking for Volunteers:
If you’re a professional in any field with a heart for helping others, we invite you to share your wisdom, uplift someone’s journey, and be the voice of possibility. Your lived experience is more powerful than you think.
Join us in building a movement of mentorship, healing, and hope—one person, one conversation, one breakthrough at a time.
