Our troops of dedicated, playful, and brilliant volunteers are the backbone of our organization. In addition to helping us run every single student program, volunteers serve as lead spies in our Secret Agent Supply Co, write a grant here and there, design posters and web sites, stuff 193 envelopes, and so much more. We're always seeking enthusiastic folks to join our family. We are thrilled to have your support whenever you are able to offer it. Some programs require a weekly, bi-weekly, or semester-long commitment, but we strive to honor whatever time you are able to give us—be that once a week, once a month, or once a year. The 8th year of the growing UNconference. EdcampSTL brings together the most passionate, innovative, creative and down-right cool people passionate about education. An unconference, also called OpenSpace conference is a participant-driven meeting. The term "unconference" has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as fees, sponsored presentations, and top-down organizations.
This growing event has blossomed through careful leadership and compassionate leaders from 153 in it's first year to over 500 this past year. We are focused on achieving a goal of 1000 educators for this one day event.
Because educators use so much of their personal money ono their classroom we seek to find another way to bring about change. School districts themselves spend a large portion of their time, effort and treasure on utilizing their resources to promote their specific community. Our focus is to bridge the gaps in between communities and create a more connected and collaborative educational environment.
Registration to this event (and all of our events) is always free!
