Teachers and mentors are key to delivering our programs that provide Computer Science, coding, and business education to girls around the state of Montana. There is no requirement for Computer Science education in Montana so Rural and Tribal communities and girls in particular are not given the opportunity to learn. Less than 1% of high school girls are taking the few classes that are offered. Mentors and teachers are critical to provide these skills that are now critical in the workforce, and they help to create a connection to a career opportunity that many of the girls in the state do not even know exists.

The Chanel Career Speaker Series consists of one-hour dynamic talks for students, where Chanel volunteers share their personal and professional journeys. During the session, volunteers will discuss their academic and career paths, the key skills they have developed (such as creativity, proactivity, and leadership), the challenges they have faced, and offer insights into trends and opportunities in the labor market. These sessions are designed to be participatory and inspirational, encouraging students to reflect on their own career paths.
The goal of this initiative is to help young people gain real-world perspectives on the world of work and understand the importance of skills like resilience, adaptability, and self-awareness in building a successful future. By connecting students with professionals from Chanel, this activity aims to broaden their horizons, motivate them to pursue their goals, and support them in making informed decisions about their education and career.
This volunteering opportunity is especially important because it creates a space where young people can see themselves in real-life career stories, ask questions, and gain confidence in their own potential.
Support provided:
Volunteers will receive a presentation template with a suggested structure to help guide their preparation, along with step-by-step timing recommendations and tips for engaging with a young audience. Additional supporting materials with examples and ideas will also be shared to enhance the talk.
There will be briefing sessions to address any questions and ensure a smooth and meaningful volunteering experience.
Volunteers are expected to prepare a personalized career journey presentation using the provided template and adapt it based on their own experiences.
Your Social Commitment team is available, should you have any queries.

Join the World Anti Drugs and Development Organization (WADO) in our crucial "AWARENESS OF DRUG ABUSE IN SCHOOLS" campaign! This volunteer opportunity offers a chance to directly contribute to the well-being and future of Tanzanian youth by supporting our efforts to educate students, teachers, and communities about the dangers of drug abuse.

Goal and Purpose: The primary goal of this volunteer activity is to expand the reach and impact of our school-based awareness campaign. By engaging dedicated volunteers, we aim to provide more comprehensive educational support, reach a greater number of schools, and foster a stronger community commitment to drug prevention.

Why This is Important: Drug abuse poses a significant threat to the health, education, and overall development of young people. By volunteering with WADO, you will play a vital role in equipping students with the knowledge and resilience they need to make informed choices and resist drug experimentation. Your support will help create safer and healthier school environments, empower teachers and parents, and contribute to building a drug-free generation in Tanzania.

Potential Volunteer Roles (Specific tasks may vary based on your skills and availability):

Workshop Support: Assist WADO staff in organizing and delivering awareness workshops in schools (potentially requiring travel within the region). Tasks may include setting up materials, guiding activities, and providing logistical support.
Community Outreach: Help in disseminating information about the campaign to parents and the wider community through events and outreach initiatives.
Material Development Support: Contribute to the creation and distribution of educational materials (e.g., brochures, posters) by assisting with design, translation (if applicable), or distribution.
Administrative Assistance: Provide valuable support with administrative tasks related to the campaign, such as data entry, scheduling, and communication.
Online Engagement: Help raise awareness online through social media support and content sharing.
Your involvement in this campaign will directly contribute to empowering Tanzanian youth, strengthening communities, and fostering a brighter, drug-free future. Join WADO and make a tangible difference!

Join Crayon Collection as we organize and pack art supplies to be donated to the schools in the Pacific Palisades that were displaced by the Palisades fire. Our founder, Sheila Morovati—a proud Palisades resident—launched Crayon Collection in 2013 to uplift Los Angeles by promoting sustainability, increasing access to art materials, and offering free art education to underserved schools. As an organization with strong ties to the Palisades, our world has been upended over the past few months.

In the face of such hardship, we want to bring color, art, and most importantly, hope, back to our village through a community art project. In August, in honor of #NationalCrayonCollectionMonth and back to school, we will donate new art supplies for each school valued at $1500 to replenish their art cabinets.

We need your help to distribute these art supplies to each of the 10 schools that we are collaborating with on this project. Your role will include:
- Unpacking art supplies
- Distributing art supplies evenly among the 10 schools and according to grade levels
- Re-packing the art supplies for distribution to each school

We believe this effort will bring smiles and joy to the hearts of our community members, who are navigating unimaginable loss. Your support will make a meaningful, direct impact on the lives of students processing loss through creative expression.
