Join our volunteer program in Laos and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children. During this compassionate journey, you will contribute to kindergartens, rural primary schools, or assist students up to 25 years old. Your role will involve teaching English, organizing engaging activities, and embracing the opportunity to learn from the children themselves. You will dedicate 3 to 4 hours per day at either one of the two kindergartens (ages 2 to 4) or various schools (ages 4 to 12) where we offer our support. Your responsibilities will include teaching the fundamentals of English, coordinating activities, and supporting the local staff. This experience provides a wonderful chance to immerse yourself in the local culture while making a positive difference in the community.
While we strive to follow a structured curriculum, we also emphasize informal teaching methods. You will have extra hours each week to design lessons and activities for the students. These can cover a wide range of topics, from games, sports, and music to crafts and essential life skills, all conducted in the English language.
Objectives:

The day will include an introductory meeting to discuss rules, expectations, health and safety guidelines, as well as lessons on Laotian lifestyle, culture, and language. Additionally, you will be given a tour of the premises and the surrounding area, including local shops and SIM card facilities.
Throughout the week, various activities will be organized to enrich your experience. Tuesday evenings offer a chance to unwind and socialize during a barbecue gathering. Wednesday nights feature movie screenings at the accommodation, while Thursdays are reserved for an enjoyable restaurant outing, where you can partake in Southeast Asia's beloved pastime: karaoke.
Laos, much like its neighboring countries Cambodia and Thailand, embraces Theravada Buddhism as its primary religion, greatly influencing Laotian culture, language, art, literature, and performing arts.
