BestPrep is seeking business professionals in the Twin Cities metro area to host educators for a 3-hour job-shadow experience at your workplace as part of BestPrep's Technology Integration Workshop (TIW).

Volunteer Role and Expectations:
•Host an educator for a 3-hour job shadow to give them an inside look at today’s business environment so they can better align their curriculum to business’ needs
•Discuss and showcase the skills needed to thrive in a workplace so educators can help develop these skills with their students
•Share your past professional experiences and training and how they apply to your day-to-day work

Time Commitment:
•Luncheon, Monday, July 29, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., University of St. Thomas – downtown Minneapolis
•Job Shadow, Tuesday, July 30, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., your workplace

Why Volunteer?
Business Partners can have a big impact, without needing to dedicate hours of time. During the luncheon and job shadow, you'll help an educator gain insight on the skills students will need to be successful in your industry. You'll also help familiarize educators with today’s business environment, so they can better align their curriculum to your business’ and career field’s needs. Other benefits of volunteering include:
•Showcase your company’s and industry’s accomplishments
•Influence and shape how educators will prepare students to bring value to the next generation of workforce professionals
•Build company brand awareness
•Connect personally with a school and educator

Other details:
•TIW is a professional development opportunity for educators to enhance their curriculum with 21st-century technology skills and resources.
•You do not have to have a technology-specific role to participate; any business professional willing to share insight on your industry, business environment and career path makes a great Business Partner.
•The job shadow can include a tour of your workplace, inviting your educator to a team meeting, and discussion of the daily skills you use, the various projects you work on, the type of technology you use, and the training you may receive on the job.

Registration to participate as a Business Partner can be completed through the link included below. The registration deadline is July 8, however to ensure a great volunteer experience, we are asking anyone interested to register by July 1.

This is where teams can finally show off their game entries they've been working on since kickoff in November. We need a variety of volunteers for general help, judging, and speaking. Judges come from various related industries such as design, art, music, or programming to rate the teams and their games for winning awards. Speakers give sessions throughout the day to provide ample learning experiences about the industry for the students attending, General volunteers can help with guiding teams to where they need to be, running supplies, and other help as needed. This is a great opportunity to see what kids are capable of!
