Please join us for Salk's largest outreach event of the year! During High School Science Day, Salk opens its doors to 250+ high school students from across San Diego County to participate in scientific seminars, tour labs, and meet scientists.

Each year, we need around 30 group escorts to ensure that students get around campus in a timely manner. If you are passionate about science education, this is a great opportunity to get involved!

No prior visits to Salk is required. Orientation is provided morning-of. Volunteers receive a collectible High School Science Day T-shirt and lunch.

It is hours of fun and a great sense of accomplishment when you see all the competition set up to welcome our excited Inland Empire Middle School Teams! You do not need any special skills! Would you like to support our local kids by helping in setting up? Join in an exciting Robotics Program that teaches our kids 21st Century skills in STEM and gets them excited about learning! We need lots of volunteers to help us set up this unforgettable educational robotics event. Students are using the LEGO NXT Mindstorms EV3 programmable robot to compete on a field with LEGO models and are judged on robot design, a science research project, and teamwork! You do not have to build a robot, just help us set up an annual competition held at UC Riverside every November. We can not do it without you! This is a highlight for life in a young person's education and this program teaches real-life hands-on skills that can be used in the 21st Century Job Market. Every volunteer who assists in this program is blown away and wants their kids a part of this learning excitement.

The 2nd Annual Back to School Bash will be held Wednesday, September 5th, 2018, at Remedy Life Church from 6:30 to 8:30pm. At the Bash, students will receive free school supplies and enjoy free food and games. Your sponsorship for the Back to School Bash is needed. We envision every child having the best learning opportunities possible, beginning with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. This vision can be hampered for many families by already stretched budgets.

The Back to School Bash will provide students in the community with the supplies they need to succeed this school year. Our goal is to give away school supplies to over 30 K-12 students in the Chico community area.

It is the 3rd Annual Halloween Dog Parade at Joe Glik Park and it is guaranteed to be “Barkin’ Mad.” All to raise money to continue Project Restore's efforts in Uganda, Africa at the Nabitalo Senior Secondary School's computer Lab building, purchasing of equipment, software and anti-theft devices.

Opportunity Details

The goal and purpose of this event is for the Bridgeport High School Class of 2019 to put on a musical for educational and entertainment purposes for the students, parents, the community, and the public in general. This annual tradition is important to the senior class as a way to bond together before going their separate ways and for some seniors to try something new. We would like for Kohl's employees to help in the lobby before, during and after the shows, specifically the concession stand and possibly other areas, to free up the parents to help in other needed areas.

Your donations will help us bring this free, prominent digital learning resource to thousands of Bulgarian children, especially those more than 40% without access to quality education.

We empower Bulgarian students to learn at their own pace in and outside the classroom: The Bulgarian localization of Khan Academy will give Bulgarian kids access to 10 000 world-class video lessons and 100 000 interactive exercises in math, science and other subjects - free for everyone, everywhere. With Khan Academy, students learn while having fun, and parents and teachers easily follow and foster their performance. We want to let Bulgaria participate in this global community of 66 million learners worldwide!

You could contribute to our cause by:
1. becoming Khan Academy Ambassador: spread the word about it and/or organize fundraising events in your community;
