Being a volunteer mentor is a rewarding, meaningful, and fun experience! Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children facing adversity with caring adult volunteers. We provide volunteers with professional support and guidance.

Volunteers choose one of three programs. 1) Community-based Program: Children and volunteer mentors meet weekly throughout the Metro Milwaukee community and spend time together engaged in activities they choose based on mutual interest. 2) School-based Program: Volunteers meet with a child at their elementary school during one of our scheduled on-site mentoring times to work on homework, talk, play games, and enjoy interactive activities. 3) mentor2.0 Program: High school students interact with mentors through a safe, secure online communication system and focus on college readiness. Mentors and students meet in person at the high school once a month during the school year.

All of our mentoring relationships increase a child’s educational expectations, improve attitudes towards risky behavior, and develop social skills!
