At JA Finance Park presented by the USAA Foundation, each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM USAA CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY: USAA Serves system does not send cancellation notices to the junior achievement coordinator if you remove yourself from the event. Students are scheduled for this field trip based on the number of volunteers signed up to participate. It is extremely important that if you sign up, you show up. If for some reason after signing up, you are unable to attend, you must do the following:
1. Notify martin Longoria at mlongoria@jast.org
2. Cancel your participation in USAA Serves so another USAAvolunteer can take your spot.
3. If your cancellation is within 7 days, you must call ja directly to notify at 210-490-2007 ext105 in addition to the steps outlined above.
Junior Achievement will need to work quickly to fill your spot so the students are taken care of. Our ultimate goal is to represent USAA’s brand well, be good corporate citizens and partners to our nonprofit community members, and most importantly be there for these students, many of whom are in economically disadvantaged areas. When we do not show, this makes the event very challenging for junior achievement, for the remaining volunteers, and for the students. Money moves mountains, but money can also create obstacles. This session will provide you with the tools necessary to have control over your financial freedom, including budgeting, saving, investing, and negotiating. From seeking scholarships for college or research, to working full time or working part-time in high school or during college, the panelists will provide ample insight.

MARKeting You!
Networking and developing positive relationships are the essential ingredients to reaching your goals. But networking is about striking the balance of mutually beneficial relationships with professionals. This session will provide you with the skills to figure out what you hope to provide to those within your network, how to develop meaningful relationships, how to maintain those relationships, how to use those relationships to gain information, and find ways to implement or capitalize on that information.

Finding your MARK
Our experts will share practical advice and strategies to finding our passion(s), seeking opportunities develop your passion(s), and how to build your resume to MARK your presence in a stack of candidates for any position. This session will help you to build an exquisite resume and "nail” your interviews, for either college or career opportunities.

Brighter Generation Education is a virtual program to teach disadvantaged youth in Ethiopia by involving global volunteers from the comfort of their location while gaining an unforgettable experience, cultural exchange, and life-long friendships.

Our programs are developed with a comprehensive curriculum and detailed weekly lessons with a learning management system. Our programs also offer internship opportunities for college students outside of Ethiopia to help facilitate class exercises virtually.

You will mentor them through 1:1 conversations where you introduce your profession, share your experiences in the field, educate about skills required, recommend colleges, and review student resumes.
