"#Remote volunteers will record a brief video in which they share their personal and professional experiences. They will discuss the journey they took and the skills that were needed to succeed in their current role. Providing a fresh perspective will help participants envision a bright future for themselves. Diverse backgrounds and experiences will make this a more enriching experience for both the volunteers and participants. Videos should not exceed more than 15 minutes. We will provide tips on the platform that will be shared with all those who register. The volunteer activity will begin with a brief orientation on Thursday, August 13 at 3pm PT from United Way and a nonprofit partner. During this orientation, volunteers will learn about United Way and the beneficiary, the impact that they are making, and how this particular project will support the communities that they serve. United Way will also provide guidance on the project and answer questions. They will also share information on a live Career Day opportunity that will be available at the end of the month for a select few volunteers."

You will surely develop a new perspective and build deeper interpersonal understanding as you conduct these interviews.Interviewers do not need any previous experience to get involved. We require a simple willingness to talk openly and listen empathetically! Interviewers can conduct one interview or continue them on a recurring basis. We offer personalized guidance to each volunteer to help them prepare for this role. We ensure that our volunteers are ready to interact with and serve veterans. We encourage interviewers to seek out veterans they know personally. Though if you do not know a veteran or service member, we can connect you with someone who wants to tell their story.
