SMART is a comprehensive eight-year program that provides low-income students in San Francisco access to an exceptional education and the skills needed to thrive in college and in life. SMART’s vision is to end the cycle of poverty in San Francisco by providing students and families academic, social-emotional, and financial support, as well as college preparation and career exploration.

Come support 8th grade SMART Scholars as they prepare to write their personal statement essays. These essays are essential in completing their applications to private high schools in San Francisco. You'll be paired with a Scholar 1:1. You'll support with brainstorming, crafting, editing, and polishing essays. A guide will be provided by SMART staff before the event. A short volunteer orientation is also provided 10 minutes prior to the event to align on your role for the event.

Each project aims to have a positive civic impact, whether it is helping the environment, assisting vulnerable populations, or bridging communication gaps. Our projects are scoped for students to build functional prototypes or working pilots with mentorship from industry experts.

We are seeking a grant specialist to volunteer to help identify new grant opportunities and craft winning grant proposals. As a grant specialist, you will play a crucial role in funding initiatives that help further our mission of making computer science education inclusive and available to all.

Primary responsibilities :
- Researching new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources that match our nonprofit programs and initiatives
- Maintaining a calendar of relevant grant opportunities and deadlines
- Working with the Executive Director to discuss upcoming projects and grant requirements
- Writing and editing engaging grant proposals and application materials
- Assisting with grant reporting requirements

Requirements:
- This is a remote volunteer position requiring 5 to 10 hours per week.
- The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience writing successful grant proposals for nonprofit organizations. Strong research, writing, detail, and time management skills are essential. Previous experience with computer science education programs is a plus.

We are seeking a Coordinator to manage and grow our presence on social media. As a coordinator, you will help create engaging content and implement strategies to expand our follower base and increase engagement.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage content calendars and plans
- Create regular posts aligned with our brand voice that educate and engage followers
- Respond to comments, questions, and messages
- Use post boosting/promotions and ads
- Analyze metrics and generate engagement reports on posts

Requirements:
- This is a virtual volunteer position requiring 4 to 8 hours per week.
- Ideal candidates have great writing skills, creativity, and experience managing organizational pages.

The applicant must reside preferably in the United States or Canada.

(All data is securely wiped using specialist data erasure software. We are registered with the Environment Agency and are fully compliant with WEEE regulations.)

CRT monitors and PCs with Vista, XP or Windows 7.
