At JA Finance Park presented by the USAA Foundation, each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.

Opportunity Details

The Clay Education Foundation in conjunction with the Clay County District Schools presents "A Night with the STARS", our annual night of celebration and recognition of our amazing Clay County teachers and staff.

Each of the 42 school nominates a teacher and staff person (cafeteria, janitor, secretary, etc.) to represent their school in the Clay County Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year selection process. We bring all of these nominees on stage and recognize them in front of nearly 1000 of their friends, families, colleagues, etc.

The winners of each category (1 per) will go on to represent Clay County across the state of Florida for the Florida Teacher and School-Related Employee of the Year.

Please join the Clay Education Foundation and Clay County District Schools at the Tools 4
Schools event to be held Monday, January 6th at Fleming Island High School’s Teacher Training Center. This event will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and gives teachers an opportunity to obtain supplies for their classrooms.

We will be hosting a Trivia Night at the Bloomington Moose Lodge. This a is a fun, adult only evening of Trivia hosted by our MC. There will be light appetizers served that will need to be kept up and a silent auction will take place. We will also be holding a 50/50 raffle that will need tickets sold.

Opportunity Details

Communications High School, a public career academy in the Monmouth County Vocational School District, is located in Wall, New Jersey. This school serves 350 students from more than forty school districts in Monmouth County. The curriculum concentrates on all aspects of the communications field including journalism, broadcasting and the visual arts. We are a close knit school and are actively engaged in both academic and service initiatives.

Each year the Parent Student Faculty Association (PSFA) holds a gift auction in order to raise money to supplement the student’s education. We provide grants for state of the art equipment, industry leading guest speakers, trips for club competition events, service initiatives, school clubs activities and projects as well as many other items.

Our gift auction is on March 28, 2020 and will be held at Jumping Brook in Neptune, New Jersey. Our organization is tax-exempt under section 501(c) of the IRS code. Our tax-exempt number is 22-3759364.

We need at least 8 volunteers to help out the night of the event. Responsibilities will include bringing baskets from the holding room to the winners.
