OGPC is a non-profit STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design, Mathematics) advocacy organization that runs an annual competition for 6-12 graders and runs solely on donations. Key to that is locating sponsors and maintaining relationships with them. Our organization runs on around $10,000/year with 100% going to our program although we are looking to grow. All positions are volunteer. Our goal is to attract a mix of national companies (for example, Amazon, Google, Electronic Arts) along with state companies and organizations. The Sponsorship Coordinator would have the following responsibilities:

- Contact past sponsors to maintain relationships
- Find new sponsors (identify, contact, discuss)
- Apply for grants
- Ensure sponsors invited to event, highlighted properly, thanked

The work would be unscheduled, something to fit in as you have time. Our season runs from November until May and we like to have our sponsors lined up by the start of the season as much as possible, though it's not unusual for us to add sponsors into February or March as necessary.

If this is something you are interested in, we'd love to hear from you!

Youth have no idea what it was like to live in the 1840's to 1860"s. The lack of materials to occupy their limited free time . They had to improvise with the materials that were available. Learning to make a simple whirligig and finding how simple the toy is, that occupied their time. Play with a simple hoop and rolling it along the ground, pick up sticks , maybe some hopscotch and jacks.
