Through mentoring, tutoring, support groups, recreational and character education programs, Heart Haven OutReach (H2O) has touched and dramatically changed the lives of over 3,000 teens (grades 6-12) since opening its doors in 2005. This is a phenomenal testament to our caring community and huge cause for celebration! On Thursday, July 11, we are having our 16th anniversary event, and hoping to raise enough funds to strengthen our middle school programming. This is our main fundraising event which allows our staff to focus more on serving our students during the rest of the year, and not raising funds.Visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040444a9ac2f4-h2o2019 for more volunteer information.

Volunteer your time to support young people to understand the economy with our Discovering the Economy schools courses for Year 9 and Year 12 students. We are running course content development sessions over Summer Term and sessions in schools in Autumn Term.
Economy’s approach is to coach student knowledge of the economy and to give them confidence speaking about economics. We’re not here to teach students economics in detail, but to create economic literacy and curiosity so students can identify as confident economic citizens. What we are looking for from you is openness to getting involved with the students individually, making them feel challenged and focused, and to help them articulate what they would like to gain from the course and to get involved in hosting their discussions to facilitate them sharing their ideas. No prior Economics knowledge needed apart from your own experiences.
Having successfully piloted our courses with two age groups this year with BlackRock's support, we are first looking to run course content development sessions. We would invite you to contribute to our programme design in several course development sessions over July and August. Examples might include giving ideas about the programme design, outcomes students need for 'economic literacy', scaling and improving the way we work with volunteers and setting up a mentoring component of the course or creating some supporting content about public speaking for students.
