Youth About Business teaches business to high school students through hosting a series of team-based business competitions. Over the course of a week, students will work in teams of 4-5 and assume the roles of the Executive Management of a public company to perform a M&A transaction.

Many students have very limited exposure to the business world, so students appreciate the team advisors for helping them understand these very complex cases. Each team advisor will cover a specific part of the transaction process to help demystify business and prepare students for their transactions.

The camp is both an educational opportunity and a competition for the students. Advisors act as both “paid” consultant and teachers during their experience. You should approach your role as advisor as if you are advising a client on the pros and cons of a deal.

Information Technology Session:
The IT volunteer helps a team of 4-5 students consider the implications of technology issues (staffing, systems integration, cost efficiencies, upgrades, etc.) in the merger and acquisition process. The advisor will spend the session helping teams think through the value of their IT and data.

Key concepts covered during this session:
• Company’s perceived role of technology (early adopter vs late entry)
• Reliance on IT for a competitive advantage
• Valuation of intellectual property assets
• Technical resources key to the ongoing operations
• Deal reliance on significant expense reductions based on IT synergies
• Deal reliance on merged or compatible infrastructure

At YWAM Shanti, we provide an afterschool tutoring program.
Tuesday to Friday, we have tutors to help the children with their homework and prepare for exams.
Access to quality education is the first essential opportunity available to children that can be built on throughout their life. We recognize that without a good education, the children are at a disadvantage.
Ethnic minority children are at a disadvantage because unlike locals, they do not speak Chinese at home and the Chinese language is compulsory in the Hong Kong education system. As most subjects are taught in Chinese, the students fall
behind and are not able to catch up.
We use innovative and creative ways to teach them, such as games, songs, interactive multi-media, and have personal tutors to teach them. Through the programs, we hope to enhance the children's motivation and confidence in learning and establishing a good foundation for the children to integrate into the Hong Kong education system.

Children and Widows Protection and Fellowship Group (CWPFG), founded in 2001 by Kenyans devoted to improving the lives of residents in Migori County, Kenya, has been joined by Americans supporting their endeavors. CWPFG, headed by a local resident Vivian Auwor, was joined several years ago by local high school business teacher Kenas Odongo. Mr. Odongo is paying it forward, having obtained his education due to the support of an American friend of his mother since the 1990s.
The Americans formed a 501(c)(3) corporation, CWPFG International, Inc. in 2025, and are reaching out for funds and for volunteers to advocate for the four programs being conducted by CWPFG:
PROGRAMS SUPPORTING THESE OBJECTIVES
The Deborah Ullian Kashdan Scholarship Program
1. Education is power for women through reduction of poverty.
2. Unequal access to education is the silent architect of gender disparity.
The F. W. Reproductive Health and Sexual Education Program
1. Every woman deserves the right to quality contraceptive methods, regardless of where they live or their socioeconomic status. Access to this is not optional; it is among the most neglected of human rights.
2. Investing in adolescent reproductive health education is a fundamental way to prevent teen pregnancies with its negative impact on mothers and their children.
The Natalie Andre Women Entrepreneurship Program
1. Empowering women is the foundation of achieving gender equality and economic vitality.
2. To break poverty cycles in society, women must be empowered financially.
The Doris Rosen Water and Sanitation Program
