Make a profound impact on a youth's life by becoming their mentor, having fun and sharing your time. Friends for Youth is currently seeking caring adult volunteers to mentor youth facing adversity.

Volunteer Programs:
1) 1-to-1 Mentoring: Be matched 1-on-1 with a youth between the ages of 8-17. Meet once per week for 2-3 hours for at least 6 months or 1 year. 1-to-1 Mentors pick youth up from their home on weekdays or weekends and go on fun outings based on their interests. This program serves youth living in San Mateo and Northern Santa Clara Counties. Volunteer applicants are accepted on an ongoing basis.

2) School-Based Mentoring: Join a team of 2 mentors and 4 youth mentees for 1 hour each week from October-May. This program supports youth during the transition from middle school to high school, 8th-10th grade, who have been identified as being "at-risk" of struggling in high school. Mentoring sessions are held on Redwood City school campuses during school hours, and include fun relationship-building and life skills activities. We are now accepting volunteer applicants for the coming school year.
