The 2018 Linn-Mar Prom is right around the corner, and the Post Prom Committee is once again planning a Post Prom event. The motivation behind this event is to provide our high school prom goers a safe, alcohol and drug-free event immediately following Prom. Post Prom can be attended by any Linn-Mar junior or senior and their guest regardless of whether they attended Prom – allowing students another social option without the traditional, formal (and sometimes expensive) Prom expectations. This year we expect over 800 students for this free and fun-filled event consisting of entertainment, games, food, and prizes. It is our hope that prizes include $500 college scholarships (scholarship prizes are determined by total donations received). This year’s Linn-Mar Post Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 11:30pm to 4:00am at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Linn-Mar parents donate their time, talent, and money to the Post Prom event, but the Post Prom Committee needs your help to create an even more amazing evening. Many volunteers are needed during the post-prom event to keep everything running smoothly. The volunteers for this fun, high energy evening have a great time and are always surprised that the evening goes so quickly. Set up volunteers are done by 11:00pm, with other volunteer opportunities finishing at 2:00. Many volunteers choose to stay to watch the hypnotist at 2:15, but that's up to you.
We hope you can join us and show our community teens a good time, while keeping them safe on prom night.

We provide a safe, drug and alcohol free celebration for the recent graduates. We leave on buses right after graduation and we take them to 2 different venues, provide activities, entertainment and lots of food. Not only does this keep them safe but it also keeps the rest of the community safe by keeping them off the road. Car related deaths are very high during graduation time. In past years, volunteers have baked cookies for us to use as snacks for the kids on the buses and before we leave for the venue. We expect 250+ kids to attend.Available Shifts

Eggstravaganza is one of the zoo’s largest events of the year. This event, which is free with admission, encourages families to participate in activities throughout the zoo. We want to engage the community in getting outdoors and exploring the zoo as they shake off the winter. There will be numerous activities for the kids to engage with such as hunting for six cluck-cluck doors throughout the zoo to collect treat-filled eggs, playing egg-cellent games, making fun crafts and yummy snacktivities. Then visitors can take their pictures with the Easter Bunny! There will also be educational, live animal programs where visitors will be able to see and touch some of our animals up close. We want to foster a day of fun in the sun and family engagement, strengthening family bonds and helping to create memories that will last. This event also serves to drive traffic to the zoo. Your volunteer time will not only help make this amazing and affordable event happen, but will also translate into increased funds for our conservation and education work that touches over 30,000 people each year.Available Shifts

Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at our one-day marketplace. We will host 30 booths at the 1st annual event at Sarah Noble Intermediate School. on Saturday April 28th 2018 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
This event is sponsored by the Woman's Club of Greater New Milford, the Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.
Whether an entrepreneur is famous like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs and serve their communities.
Volunteers assist with intake and meeting the needs of child vendors during the event. They also help with set up and tear down of the event. Volunteers may also act as judges during the event to help choose winners for each age category. Volunteers will directly make an impact on the child's experiences and hopefully their excitement for the event.
