On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at The Barn at Sycamore Farms, we plan to host a dinner and auction for 400 guests. Our goal for this event is to raise funds for our Annual Fund.

Founded in 1992, FCS has since expanded to serve more than 200 full-time students and 800 additional students in The Comenius School, our home school umbrella program. From our campus at 408 Church Street in historic Downtown Franklin, TN we are able to offer over $70,000 in scholarships each year to assist families in need. Our classical education focuses on developing leaders who think critically, engage in fruitful debate, and actively respond to social needs in our community.

Reality Check is a Financial Simulation for our seniors. Reality Check tries to mirror real-life scenarios to help students understand the financial realities they may face. During the simulation, each student chooses an occupation with a salary. They need to manage and make decisions on important life events such as buying a house, budgeting for food, paying for insurance, buying a vehicle, and paying off any debts, such as student loans. We are looking for volunteers to run a clothing station by providing examples for students to 'purchase' during this simulation.

At JA Finance Park presented by the USAA Foundation, each student becomes “an adult for the day” in an electronic simulation. The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.
