Opportunity Details

The music program at Carroll High School offers opportunities to students in a variety of areas. We have marching band, 3 jazz bands, 2 winter colorguard programs, indoor percussion, show choir band, pep band and concert band. On Saturday, March 6 2021, the indoor percussion group will be hosting its annual invitational. It is the only invitational north of Indianapolis. Currently, there are 14 bands from all over the state slotted to attend. This means we will have around 1,500 students, pit crew, parents and family members, bus drivers, judges and IHSMA volunteers attending. This event is the biggest fundraiser for the indoor percussion group and is what allows us to continue this amazing program. It takes over 75 volunteers to make this happen. We have volunteers participating by selling tickets, selling concessions, operating the hospitality room, directing traffic in the parking lot, unloading semis, escorting bands to warm up rooms and the performance room, assisting judges, door keepers, etc. Your help in volunteering at this event would be priceless. Carroll's IDP came in 3rd in the state because of the hard work and determination of the students, staff and volunteers. Opportunity Details

On Thursdays and Fridays at Mansfield High School, a group of volunteers gets together to bake and sell pre-made, pre formed Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. This is a HUGE fundraiser for MHS PTSA and benefits all students. A large portion of proceeds go toward the annual after prom party- a safe and drug free event hosted by PTSA. Proceeds are also used for academic and extra curricular activities benefitting all students.

The students are assigned a life scenario so they can experience firsthand the real-life challenges of making personal budgeting decisions. After calculating their net monthly income and savings goals, students visit kiosks that represent different budget categories such housing, health insurance, groceries, and utilities. Anyone with real world monthly budgeting experience can become a volunteer. JA Finance Park Volunteers play a key role by helping the students understand the concepts of personal financial planning and career exploration. Volunteers provide guidance and assistance while monitoring and verifying students’ work.

Opportunity Details

First place winners from their local Fairs enter our competition for prizes and the ability to advance their scientific endeavors. We are the only regional Fair in NYS that includes elementary schools. our Fair is open to K-12 students in Putnam, Westchester and Rockland Counties. Home schooled students are welcome to participate. The Fair will be held at White Plains HS on April 18, 2020. Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities to make this happen. At the crux of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), are people who are interested in using their creativity to generate ideas and solve real-world problems. Vancouver iTech Preparatory school offers Robotics, History and other clubs where any student who wishes to, is able to and encouraged to solve problems, experience excitement for learning and expand their life goals and vision.
Your support of our organization (iTech prep Booster Association) provides funding for needed materials, supplies and fees for the clubs, and enables participation by students of any financial means in regional, state and national competitions, thus supporting their growth mindset, real-life problem-solving skills, and love of learning.

Opportunity Details

Every year, the Foundation holds a Spring Fundraiser. The proceeds go to directly support classrooms, school improvements, and student enrichment. Not only was it Fundraising, it was Character Building. The 2 weeks leading up to the fundraising event, the students were given lessons on Selflessness, Trustworthiness, Health and Wellness, Overcoming Obstacles, Goal Achievement and Showing Gratitude. The day of the fun run, students are able to celebrate everything they had learned throughout the 2 weeks, and the donations they collected for the school's Foundation (which go directly back to the school and students). We need help marking the student's shirts every time they completed a lap. Also handing out water and cheering them on!

Opportunity Details

The spring carnival is our school organizations largest event of the year. It is a community event to bring together everyone for a fun night of rides, inflatables, raffles, food, and games. It is a great event that really unites our community. Volunteers will help oversee various inflatable, bouncy house, obstacle, and game stations for the children.
