The Youth Programs Department with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation will host their 11th Annual Break the Norm event on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00am-2:00pm at 5633 South Staples, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Break the Norm is held prior to Spring Break to encourage a healthy life-style and to provide a drug-free environment for the community.
Alcohol is the number one substance abused by minors. In the 2017 Regional Needs Assessment, the Prevention Resource Center reported that alcohol was perceived by students as the most easily accessible substance compared to other drugs. Break the Norm promotes not only family fun, but educates the community and brings awareness to prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD).
Break the Norm is free to the community. We provide activities, entertainment, raffle prizes, give-a-ways, and so much more! In 2016, we had an attendance of over 700 and 67 vendors that provided community resources, games, and incentives.
