YCore, a social impact fellowship for young professionals, gives young professionals the opportunity use their talent and resources to support meaningful work in their community.

Over the course of four months, YCore fellows dedicate a few hours outside of work each week to complete a strategic project with a local nonprofit partner. They also attend workshops with their cohort to learn and apply skills like systems thinking and fundraising, all while building their network of like-minded changemakers.

Opportunity Details

Bring smiles to kids with cancer and their siblings during one of our in-person camp sessions: Day/Jr for campers aged 4-6 years, Kids Week for campers aged 7-11 years, and Teen Week for campers aged 12-19 years. Volunteers serve as cabin counselors, activity helpers (Nature, Music, Crafts, Field Games, Drama, Ropes), kitchen staff, medical staff, and lifeguards (Red Cross certified).

Volunteers must submit an online application, be interviewed, pass a criminal background check, attend staff training in Utah, and stay onsite during the entire camp session. Opportunity Details

SamYan New Gen (SYNG) is a program largely run by Imagine Thailand (in collaboration with other organisations). It is operated by a group of volunteer teachers who are university-aged students, as well as working-aged citizens, all of which share the same goal.

Our Goal. SYNG aims to provide children in the Samyan community with a safe learning environment through a number of creative and engaging after school and Saturday activities. Students in the Old Samyan Market community area have limited education opportunities and struggle to break through generations of inequality, despite being within close proximity to Chulalongkorn University. Several students struggle in school with learning and behaviour challenges, and even the best students in the area cannot reach their full potential despite their best efforts.

The Classroom. SYNG’s classes are typically conducted after school hours, with the exception of Saturday specials, which are run on Saturday mornings. The students are usually Primary-school-aged children, as well as Secondary-school aged children (Pathom and early Mathayom), all of whom are based in the Old Samyan Market Community.

What do we offer the children? The whole reasoning behind the program is to increase the children’s opportunity for learning, as well as facilitate the development of their skills and confidence for the real world. Additionally, SYNG wanted to create a space for volunteers like yourself to make a positive contribution to the youth of Thailand’s education.

Our Classes
What will I be teaching?

There are a total of four subjects, taught over ten weeks in total.
All classes are taught at Entrance Coffee House & Studio (Soi Chula 50).

Math Space - Exploring the Mathematical Universe
Taught once a week, at 17.00 - 19.00.
Day taught decided by the teaching team’s availability
Students are divided into small groups based on grade level, and teachers help the students practice and develop their math. Teachers can engage in games or activities, and spend time with students before/after lessons.

English Journey - Creatively Communication in the English Language
Taught once a week, at 17.00 - 19.00.
Day taught decided by the teaching team’s availability.
Teachers lead lessons through activities and games. Students enjoy and thrive learning together through fun and out-of-the-box lessons which revolve around developing students’ varying level of english ability..

Tutoring Time - Giving Strength Through Tutoring(P.1 - M.1)
Taught once a week, at 17.00 - 19.00.
Day taught decided by the teaching team’s availability.
Students are divided into groups based on age/subject and teachers help with homework and coursework in various subjects. Specific attention will be given to tutoring English, Math, and Thai, as these subjects were requested by the childrens’ parents. Teachers can engage in games or activities, and spend time with students before/after lessons.

Saturday Special - Beyond-Classroom Skills for the Future
Taught once a week, on Saturday mornings, between 09.00 - 12.00.
The class is usually taught collectively, where students are either divided into smaller groups or addressed altogether, depending upon the activity being run. Teachers are to get creative here, and offer students with content in which they may not typically encounter within their school’s curriculum (see Free-style classes under the “Your Role” section).

โครงการสามย่านนิวเจ็น
คือ กลุ่มครูอาสาที่ประกอบไปด้วย นักเรียน นิสิต นักศึกษา ตลอดจนบุคคลทั่วไปที่สนใจสร้างพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบกิจกรรมหลังเลิกเรียน (After school activity) ในวันธรรมดาช่วงเย็น และวิชานอกห้องเรียน (Saturday special) ในเช้าวันเสาร์ ให้กับน้องๆ ระดับชั้นประถมศึกษา และมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นในชุมชนตลาดเก่าสามย่าน เพื่อขยายโอกาสในการเรียนรู้ และพัฒนาศักยภาพให้กับน้องๆ ในชุมชน ตลอดจนเปิดพื้นที่ใหม่ๆ ให้กับอาสาสมัครได้มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาการศึกษาไทยไปด้วยกัน

เป้าหมายของโครงการ คือ ส่งเสริมการศึกษาในชุมชนตลาดเก่าสามย่าน โดยคำนึงสภาพแวดล้อมที่ปลอดภัยในการเรียนรู้ และส่งเสริมให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ผ่านกิจกรรมและการเรียนการสอนที่หลากหลาย โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อขยายโอกาสการเรียนรู้ และลดช่องว่างของโอกาสทางการศึกษาของเด็กในชุมชน

ห้องเรียนของเราในเทอม 1 ปี 2021 ประกอบไปด้วยห้องเรียนหลังเลิกเรียน จำนวน 3 ครั้งต่อสัปดาห์ เวลา 17.00 -19.00 น. และห้องเรียนวิชานอกห้องเรียนวันเสาร์ จำนวน 1 ครั้งต่อสัปดาห์ เวลา 9.00 - 12.00 น.

ในเทอมนี้ เราจะสอนด้วยกันทั้งหมด 4 วิชา ระยะเวลาทั้งหมด 10 สัปดาห์ ทุกวิชาจะสอนที่ร้านกาแฟเอ็นทรานซ์ คอฟฟี่เฮ้าส์ แอนด์ สตูดิโอ (ซอยจุฬาฯ 50) โดยวิชาที่สอน ได้แก่

ท่องโลกคณิตฯ - รู้จักตัวเลขและวิธีการคำนวณอย่างเป็นระบบ
สอนสัปดาห์ละ 1 ครั้ง เวลา 17.00 - 19.00 น.

ติวและทบทวนให้แข็งแกร่ง - เปิดพื้นที่เรียนรู้และทบทวนสิ่งที่ยังไม่เข้าใจ (ป.1 - ม.1)

ห้องเรียนนี้จัดการเรียนการสอนในลักษณะกลุ่มใหญ่ ซึ่งคละน้อง ๆ นักเรียนทุกช่วงวัยมาเรียนรู้ร่วมกัน โดยสามารถแบ่งน้อง ๆ นักเรียนออกเป็นกลุ่มย่อยได้ตามความเหมาะสมของเนื้อหาในสัปดาห์นั้น ๆ เนื้อที่สอนสามารถออกแบบได้อย่างสร้างสรรค์โดยไม่จำกัดรูปแบบ และไม่จำเป็นต้องอิงหลักสูตรของโรงเรียน ตัวอย่างกิจกรรมที่ผ่านมา เช่น ทำอาหาร (ซูชิ แซนด์วิช) วาดแผนที่ในชุมชนสามย่าน ทำเสื้อมัดย้อม วาดรูประบายสี

Opportunity Details

We are seeking volunteers to take part in a recorded Q&A session with Young Enterprise. Taking up to 1 hour, volunteers will share their experiences of career, the pathways they have taken to their current roles and sharing useful hints and tips they've learnt along the way. Recorded sessions will be shared with Young Enterprise's students signed up to 'Route to Success' and 'Employable Me' - two programmes designed to inspire students to understand both the skills they have to offer, as well as the pathways to specific careers available to them. Real stories, from real people can inspire young people to evaluate the choices they make today and the impact they can have for the future.

All volunteers will be provided with material prior to the recorded session and Q&A's will be flexibly booked to fit your diary!
