What: Colleg Prep Workshop
Where: Washington High School - 45 Whitehouse Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30314
When: 9:30 AM-1:00 PM

The college prep-workshop targets high school students of the Washington and Douglas High School Clusters. Students will hear from a diverse group of professionals, on their personal path to success. Volunteers are needed to participate in a speed mentoring session immediately following the panelist Q&A. Volunteers will meet one-on-one with the students to review resumes, find scholarships, and discuss future aspirations.

The AFJROTC program includes high school students from all six Delaware County High Schools. While developing teamwork and leadership skills, cadets learn the values of citizenship, patriotism, service to their community, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.

AFJROTC prepares these young Americans to better serve their communities as leaders, as citizens and in military service should they choose to enter it.

On Febuary,17 2018 we are hosting the 15th annual Regional Drill Meet, which will be held at Rutherford B. Hayes High School. Around 10 schools in total participate in this event. It is a full day of drill and ceremonies competition according to military standards. It strengthens team and leadership skills.

We're working hard (and fast) to design, make, publish and release a global children's skills channel on www.scrappynews.com, we'd love this to be an interactive portal for kids to create their own content, be able to learn skills and challenge other kids in other countries to be scrappy, starting globally scrappy campaigns that change everything. We'd love to work with volunteers based anywhere in the world to work with us to make the channel/website interactive, design skills challenges for the APP and help us build out any and all social media, digital linkages that we have not even imagined yet.

Help Students Succeed: Become a College Success Mentor

Pass With Flying Colors supports Chicago’s underserved first-generation students for college and career success. With 8 years of unwavering support, PWFC scholars will graduate college at dramatically higher rates than their peers, and will be equipped to access careers that provide economic opportunity.

When you volunteer as a College Success Mentor, you play a key role in helping each PWFC student successfully navigate the unfamiliar college experience and transition successfully into their career. Mentors make a 5 year commitment to one scholar, beginning their junior year of high school. As a mentor, you provide the support, encouragement, and guidance they need to solve problems and celebrate successes.

Mentoring with PWFC is flexible. Training and ongoing support are provided to every volunteer.

We are currently seeking volunteer mentors for 22 scholars. Individuals and companies interested in learning more about this opportunity should contact Executive Director, Jessica Paulsen, at jpaulsen@passwithflyingcolors.org.
