This is a celebration event for students that qualified for the Championship Camp portion of the Youth About Business Summer Business Camp.

We are hosting this segment to allow students to celebrate their accomplishments to date, network with program volunteers (you all!), and interact with each other before heading into the final portion of their competition.

During the event, we will host a breakout session where volunteers can discuss with students:
- Educational Background and Interests
- Career Trajectory and Work History
- Current Profession and Day-to-Day Duties
- Relevant skills that have helped along the way
- Advice for your "high school self"

There will also be a keynote segment with a senior leader at Moody's.

A year and a half after russia’s ruthless invasion, Ukrainians need your help more than ever. At ENGin, hundreds of Ukrainian youth are waiting for an English conversation partner: to help them break through the language barrier, to settle in a new home, prepare for a new job, or just to provide a distraction from the horrors of war.

Can you spare 1 hour a week and make a difference in a young Ukrainian's life?
Volunteering with ENGin provides a flexible and unique opportunity to make a difference without leaving your home. We’ll pair you up with a student to video chat each week at times that are convenient for you. No teaching experience or knowledge of Ukrainian is required. All of our students possess fundamental English skills. The only requirements are English fluency, a strong internet connection, and the ability to commit to just one hour a week for a minimum of 10-12 weeks. Furthermore, we provide training, support, and comprehensive session plans to guide your conversations.

Here's what three ENGin volunteers say about their experience.

"This is an amazing organization that helps students learn English in Ukraine just by having conversations. It is a great experience, and I look forward to talking to my buddy every week. It is a great way to learn about Ukrainian culture and see a unique perspective."

"This program has been, I think, life-changing for both of us. I really consider her more like my daughter right now. That's how close we have become!"

"I'm so glad that I got this experience and was able to make a new friend. Teaching someone English, or a language you are fluent in is easy for anyone to do. By putting in a small amount of time, I'm able to make a huge impact on my student."

Want to learn more about volunteering with ENGin before signing up? Attend one of our volunteer info sessions! This is an opportunity to meet one of our team members, learn more about ENGin, and ask questions. Overview
UPchieve is a free, online platform that connects low-income students in the US with live, volunteer coaches (that’s you!) any time they need it. Our volunteer experience was designed to be ultra-flexible because we believe it should be easy for awesome people like you to help students succeed. Our text-based chat allows you to help students from anywhere with an internet connection: whether that be from your desk at work or from the comfort of your couch!

How You Can Help
As an academic coach, you’ll work directly with motivated students, 13+ who can’t afford private tutoring or admissions consulting and often don’t have anyone else they can turn to for help. All of our students attend Title 1 schools or live in low-income zip codes.

Steps:
1. Create a volunteer account at upchieve.org/volunteer
2. Complete UPchieve 101. This 30-60 minute training will help you feel confident when working with students.
3. Pass at least one quiz in any of our subjects! We provide review materials & encourage using Google.
4. Select when you want to be notified of student requests. UPchieve will text you when a student needs your help! No worries if you can't pick up every request! UPchieve notifies multiple volunteers when a student needs help.
5. Begin making an impact! Many students will go from confused to confident in the course of just one tutoring session. Those “aha” moments feel great!

Learning Equality’s Android App for its open source Kolibri Learning Platform is in need of improved user experience, especially for devices found in low resource contexts globally where Learning Equality works. Learning Equality has conducted user testing, and filed issues on GitHub related to mobile performance and user experience for mobile form factors, but are looking for support. If you are interested in fixing some of these issues on Learning Equality’s public GitHub repository, and have skills in Javascript, HTML, CSS, you would be helping to support learners around the globe without Internet.
