On October 16 and 17, 2019 our organization annual event to aid homeless Veterans in the Detroit Metropolitan area by bringing homeless Veterans together with area service providers to aid/assist them in finding a place to live, suitable employment and/or training for employment, recovery from minor legal offenses and to assist them in helping themselves get back into the mainstream of life's day to day activities. We do this by holding a community event in Southeastern Michigan called a "Stand Down." Additionally, we host the local Stand Down Court sponsored by the 36th District and 3rd Circuit courts of Detroit, Michigan. As you are probably aware, “Stand Down” is a military term referring to the removal of exhausted combat troops from the battlefield to a place of relative security/safety to rest and recover. Therefore, at our Stand Down event, we provide a secure place where the homeless can be with other homeless veterans to rest from the stresses of life on the streets.

Every day, like the soldier in combat, the homeless Veteran must continue to 'do battle.' His enemies often include lack of shelter, unemployment, physical and emotional difficulties, legal difficulties, substance abuse and hopelessness. Battling these enemies on daily basis creates a self-destructive cycle leading to complete withdrawal from mainstream American society. To aid the homeless Veteran in regaining his dignity and self respect, our help is required - our organization offers a 'hand up' not a 'hand out'.

On October 17, 2019 the event will be Female Military Veteran Focused, with vendors who will address the needs of Female Military Veterans.

Our Event requires support starting on 14 for sight construction through October 18 for site deconstruction. Please visit our website https://www.4vets.org/ for additional details.
Our event will require volunteers from all walks of life - from unpacking boxes and setting up tables and chairs, assisting with security, fulfilling administrative tasks, escorting Veterans, to serving food and environmental management.

General EyeBall information:
The Eye Ball is night to celebrate a great cause, honor those who help Project Vision bring better access to health to the Hawaiian islands, as well as fundraise for another successful year of community outreach. Guests purchase tables which directly fund our non-profit efforts and are celebrated with live music, entertainment, libations, dinner, prizes, live and silent auctions. Annually, Project Vision Hawaii garners the support of some significant VIP guests and great musical headliners! This year we have Mike Love and Paula Fuga performing!

All PVH volunteers are engaged in the same experience. We have a volunteer relaxation station set up with food and beverages as well as a volunteer appreciation gift. We also try to get individual team photos as well as one large group volunteer photo.

Volunteer Information:
Corporate volunteer request:

The check-in/registration table is a guest's first impression of the EyeBall and we know the volunteers will assist us to help all run smoothly! Once check-in is done, Microsoft volunteers might transition to another volunteer position such as the live auction- this is always an exciting role! Additional Request: Project Vision Hawaii would like to request for any available computers, devices, payment systems or software to be donated to on behalf of the corporate organization to assist the cashier, registration and check-in table during the event.
