Volunteer OpportunityTeam Members will choose the specific team that they would like to join at Orientation. We ask team members to attend monthly team meetings and volunteer five hours per month in our Portland office (unless role is remote). Due to covid, some meetings are remote or hybrid. We do have opportunities in Lane County as well which will include attending meetings virtually. Volunteers will need to complete a background check for safety of our Clients (financial assistance available if needed). Remote opportunities are open to outside of city limits.
Team Descriptions
Operations
Networking - going into the community, networking, helping table, help find more volunteers. Remote options.
Partner - meeting with, sourcing, building relationships with our Partners (those offering services, goods, or support to our Clients for pro bono or discounted costs). Remote options.
Events - help plan and execute different events we host throughout the year.
Office - order, sort, clean, help with tasks, gaining donations for gifts.
Volunteer Care - organize volunteers and volunteer events, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, help with onboarding new volunteers. Remote options.
Hospitality - bake those cupcakes! And help cater events.
Marketing & Social Media - design social media posts, create graphics, help with advertising campaigns, write press releases, and distribute flyers. Remote options.
Client Services - must be with us for 30 days before you can apply for this position. If you plan to be on either of these teams, you would be placed on the Resource team for your 30 days. Training required which is hosted two times per year for the Advocate team.
Client Outreach - must commit to volunteering on the same date and time every month - going to local clubs in Portland, helping with hair & makeup, speaking to performers, passing out flyers.
Client Advocate - this position is more than 5 hours per month - working one-on-one with Clients to help make and reach goals, setting them up with our community partners.
Resources - help keep all of our community partners and resources up to date in our online system. This is more of an administrative/remote team.Remote options.

The Cupcake Girls provides nonjudgmental and confidential support through respect, resources and relationships to those in all realms of the adult entertainment industry, including sex workers and those affected by sex trafficking. Through direct care and community resources, we partner with these individuals and empower them in their pursuits. In order to best serve the varied needs of the adult entertainers we support, The Cupcake Girls offers a range of both in-house services that we feel we are uniquely able to provide, as well as referrals to external care providers when we've identified existing professionals and organizations that meet our high standards and have proven themselves trustworthy working with the adult entertainment community. Take a 3hour shift to keep the gallery open on a friday, saturday or Sunday and learn to handle sales, talk to patrons and do basic gallery upkeep like sweeping floors, emptying garbage. As an all volunteer organization we depend on our gallery minders to not only keep the gallery space open but be out face to the public and help them learn more about our arts and artists.

The Waukesha County Fair is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that impacts the lives of nearly 130,000 fairgoers in just 5 days! The Fair is run by a 15 member volunteer Board of Directors that help make the decisions to continue to sustain this event into the future. The Waukesha County Fair is proud of being the oldest county Fair in the state and the largest event held in Waukesha County. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help us facilitate different facets of the Fair, specifically in our set-up, face-to-face exhibitor judging, clerking, and more!We would welcome any volunteers Sunday, July 17th from 10 - 6pm. Additionally, Monday, July 18th and Tuesday, July 19th from 3 - 8pm. There would be another opportunity on Wednesday, July 20th from 9 - Noon to help with many of the exhibit and judging areas. There would be direct interaction in a team environment with exposure to the public, exhibitors of all ages, and judges to help make it all come together.

If you believe that every dog deserves a safe place to land every night and pride yourself on (almost) limitless amounts of patience for rolling with unexpected hiccups, you might be a great Foster Coordinator!This volunteer role is critical to the BARCs mission, given its direct involvement in ensuring all of our rescues receive the best care and that our amazing foster families have the support they need. What you don't get paid in dollars, you'll make up in the amazing feeling of knowing you put roofs over the heads of our rescue dogs.
What you'll do

Build and maintain great relationships with our fosters - they are our lifeline to continuing to find homes for our rescues!
Field frequent inquiries from fosters and respond in a timely manner (frequent and regular access to email and phone is a must).
Communicate with fosters, ensuring they understand what is expected of them, and that they have the support they need to provide care for their foster dog.
Work diligently to find new accommodations for dogs returned by fosters.
Facilitate the foster provider support group on Facebook.

As an executive member of our board, the Secretary is a vital role in continuing our success. The role and responsibilities include:- attend each General Meeting and each meeting of the Board and the Executive and ensure accurate minutes are kept of such meetings
- be in charge of all correspondence of the Society under the direction of the President and the Board
- file the annual return, the audited financial statements, any Special Resolutions, changes in the Directors, amendments to the By-laws and other incorporating documents with the Corporate Registry or any other applicable regulatory body, as required by the Act, and other statutes or laws.
- ensure that a record of names and addresses of all Member Organizations is kept and cause all notices of various meetings to be sent as required under these By-laws
- ensure that all records of the Society, other than financial records, are properly maintained, including these By-laws and the Policies and Procedures
- keep and ensure the security of the seal of the Society
- with the President or the Vice-President, as applicable, authenticate the use of the seal of the Society
- be a member of the Executive and the Board
- be a designated signing authority on all bank accounts of the Society and, with the President or Vice-President, all contracts to be entered into on behalf of the Society
