We are having an Easter Egg hunt that is geared towards those with sensory issues. Often, the crowds of people and loud music that can happen at Easter Egg hunts can be downright painful to individuals on the Autism Spectrum. We decided that we want to put on an event that will be less stressful for these individuals so they may enjoy the activity that so many of us have grown up with.

Volunteers to assist us with our annual comedy night selling raffle tickets, checking tickets at the door, seating guests. Where would you turn if a friend or perhaps even your family was suddenly homeless, with no place to stay, no place to go and no resources to fall back on? For the last 10 years, the place to turn has been Family Promise of Warren County. Despite being a very small grassroots agency, since 2008 Family Promise of Warren County has been providing the full continuum of homeless services to the citizens of Warren County. Some of our services include sheltering families, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing, permanent supportive housing, holiday gift program, and Information and Referral services linking citizens to practically every service and program available during their desperate times. Every year the need becomes greater and government funding becomes harder to get. The recent tax code change is expected to negatively impact private giving as well. More details on our programs are available at the www.wcfamilypromise.org or by calling 908-453-2194.
One of our key fundraising events is our annual Evening of Comedy which includes a full sit-down dinner and comedy show featuring nationally recognized comedians. The goal of our program is to raise funds to keep our doors open so that we can continue to serve some of the most disenfranchised and vulnerable families and children in our own backyards.

Please join in supporting our Fired-Up Fundraiser and Charity Ball presented by Pierce Manufacturing on May 5th, 2018. The event will be held at The Garage at the Harley-Davidson Museum® at the crossroads of 6th and Canal Streets in Milwaukee. The purpose of this event is to provide support for our programming, have fun, and bring together all the great people who have supported our programs for the last 30 years. This includes our Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth, Fire Safety Newspapers in Education Programs, and more. Our supporters made a difference in the lives of thousands of young burn survivors and saved thousands more through fire safety education. Without them, we could not have made such a positive impact on the work we do to create a fire safe and burn-free Wisconsin.

Volunteers are desperately needed to help set-up, register guests, sell raffle and game tickets, run silent auctions, collect pledge cards, run photo booth, and clean up when done.

The focus is to increase family involvement in reading to enhance school achievement. Family reading kits are provided to children from low and moderate income families. They may have limited books at home and not have the opportunity to use public libraries regularly. The kits consist of 2 new books, information for the parent on reading with children, simple activities the parent and child can do together, and craft materials to draw a picture about the book. They are placed in zippered plastic bags, which are decorated with cheerful stickers. For children in stressful situations, a cuddly stuffed animal is included so the children have something comforting to hold while they're reading. The books are then packed up and delivered to agencies with programs for these children. The packets have been used as part of summer reading programs, as rewards for completing work with a reading buddy, and as celebrations for book weeks. Over 30,000 books have been distributed in the Dutchess County area. During the workshop, books will be sorted, labels will be placed in books, kits will be packaged, and they'll be prepared for delivery.
