Volunteers support our day to day operations, and assist with: administrative tasks such as data entry & organizing; graphic design; social media management; fundraising mailers; photography and videography, and much more!As an Education Through Music-Los Angeles Office Volunteer, you have the opportunity to gain an inside look at a Music Education nonprofit, as well as increased insight into the arts nonprofit sector. It also provides volunteers with the chance to gain skills in many different areas.

Job Summary: Membership CoordinatorThe WashCo BTC is a membership organization, and the Membership Coordinator will be a key player in our efforts to grow our membership base.
The Membership Coordinator will work to organize membership expansion through recruitment drives or other means, and will act as a liaison between potential/existing members and the organization. This person will maintain membership records, process new member applications and renewals.
The successful candidate is organized and pays attention to detail, shows good communication skills, and has some PC skills. Estimated time commitment is 4-8 hours per month, mostly from home at your convenience.

Members of the board are collectively responsible for ensuring that after BREAST CANCER fulfills its mission by planning for the future, monitoring and evaluating current operations, practices, policies, and procedures of the organization. Board members must fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities of the board of directors and make corporate decisions that protect the public interest and after BREAST CANCER.PURPOSE OF THE BOARD
The primary function of the Board of Directors is to ensure that after BREAST CANCER is achieving its mission through the development of services, policies, and procedures that guide the operation the organization. The board will also oversee the finances of the organization and contribute to the achievement of the organization’s mission by advocating for the organization.
The purpose of a board member is to serve the Board as a voting member; as such individual board members are not authorized to make any commitments on behalf of the Board or after BREAST CANCER.
ROLE OF THE BOARD
Strategically plan for the future. Establish policies that guide after BREAST CANCER and clearly articulates the values that frame future strategies. Advocate for and be ambassadors of after BREAST CANCER. Fundraise and generate revenue to ensure ongoing financial stability and security of after BREAST CANCER. The role of the Board is to:
Board Members’ Responsibilities
Actively promote after BREAST CANCER’s mission through the contribution of ideas, expertise, and active participation in after BREAST CANCER events and activities.
Be aware of and informed after BREAST CANCER mission, services, policies, and programs.
Actively promote the organization, and work to enhance after BREAST CANCER public brand.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to the Executive Director, Board Members, and Volunteers.
Determine and monitor after BREAST CANCER services, programs, and events
Engage in the development of strategic plans to accomplish after BREAST CANCER mission, oversee the implementation of outlined plans, and evaluate their success.
Actively participate in all board activities, including attending all monthly board meetings in person or by phone, reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to board meetings, and assessing the overall performance of the board.
Effectively manage after BREAST CANCER resources.
Implement the fiduciary responsibilities of the board, such as reviewing after BREAST CANCER financial statements, selecting an auditor and receiving the auditor’s report.
Adhere to after BREAST CANCER Conflict of Interest, Confidentiality and other policies as outlined.
Operate in an ethical and professional manner.
LENGTH OF TERM
Board members agree to a two years commitment on the board unless earlier termination occurs as a result of any of the following:
1. A director resigns office by notice in writing to the Board of Directors; or
2. A director has been absent without being excused by resolution of the Board of Directors from three consecutive meetings of the Board; or
3. A director becomes or has been declared, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be mentally incompetent.
TIME COMMITMENT
Board members commit to attending quarterly meetings, to be held the second Monday, along with the additional time required for board work and other board commitments. Each board member requires to manage or serve on a committee of choice or as assigned by the board based on your portfolio.

LOVE believes that youth are the key to ending youth violence by giving young people opportunities to become leaders in their communities through positive engagement; skill based learning and self-expression.Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) is a festival that originated in Chicago in 2001 and has since spread to 17 cities in North America, making it the largest youth poetry festival in the world. LTAB uses the popular medium of spoken word as a way of engaging young people in literacy and oral tradition, leadership and community building. Youth from different schools, after completing the 12-week program, will compete in regional poetry slams, culminating in the semi finals on June 2nd at Senator O’Connor College School and the slam final on June 3rd at the Royal Cinema.
There are many opportunities to get involved with LOVE and the LTAB Festival. Volunteer opportunities and time commitments may vary depending on the volunteer roles and responsibilities.
Volunteer Responsibilities and Roles:
Event Coordinators
Manage the preparation of event materials prior to the event (i.e. shirts, IDs, bags, etc.)
Organize and coordinate transportation of on-site materials
Set up and tear down at event
Assist in any other pre-event duties as needed prior to the event
To assist staff in day of and post-event activities at the Louder Than a Bomb Festival
Hospitality Assistant
Serve beverages/food (if any), clearing and washing up
Provide water for performers
Usher
Politely direct and escort patrons to their seats
Provide patrons with programs and other relevant materials
Check assigned section for cleanliness
Visually sweep the theaters to check for potential safety issues and lost and found items
Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules
Remain at assigned post throughout the event unless taking an assigned break
Must be aware of, and follow, the proper procedures for assisting patrons with disabilities.
Event Steward
Meet performers before the event and escort them to the venue/stage/fit
rooms/etc.
Welcome visitors in a polite and enthusiastic manner
Seat sponsors and audience
Respond to a range of queries and complaints
Check tickets and passes
Assist with crowd management
Follow health, safety and emergency procedures
Box Office
Register Slam teams
Sell and check tickets of patrons

• Shoot videos during the event of performances and behind the scenes

• Upload and send to appropriate LOVE contact
• Video will be credited and videographers must sign a release form.
Photographers
• Take photographs during the events of performances and behind the scenes
• Edit photographs as needed
• Upload and send to appropriate LOVE contact
• Photographs will be credited and photographers must sign a release form.
Preliminary and Semi-Finals Scorekeeper
• Record all five scores from the judges
• Drop the highest and lowest score and calculate the middle three scores
• Keep and accurate record of the scores in case there are any disputes
• Take note of any scores that go over time and calculate the penalty accordingly
• Check over the scores to make sure they are accurately calculated
Preliminary and Semi-Finals Judges
• Score each poem between 0.0 and 10, basing scores on content and performance.
• When prompted by the host/MC, quickly show scores by raising the score cards up
• Stay consistent with scoring and reveal if there are any conflicts of interest, such as personally knowing, mentoring or working with any of the poets
