July 25-28, 2019. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year when we raise 25% of our revenue. During Lake Stevens' annual Aquafest festival, the Friends of the Library fill the front and side of the library with tables and boxes containing 1000's of books for children, teen and adult, fiction and non-fiction. The Sale runs July 26-28. We need help during the sale keeping the books organized and neat and easy to find. Shifts are in 2-hour increments.
July 25. We also need help the day before the sale to unload the boxes, and sort and set-up the books on tables according to subject matter. A lot has been presorted.

Kidney Walk Special Event Volunteer - Ontario Branch

Description: The Kidney Foundation of Canada requires Special Event volunteers to support the Ontario Kidney Walks in the following areas:
• Registration
• Route Marshaling/Cheer Crowd
• Set Up/Take Down
• Food and Beverage Stations
• Kids Activities
• Photography

Groups Served: Kidney patients, their families, renal practitioners and doctors

Skills Required: Friendly, enthusiastic and enjoys working with others. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Previous volunteer experience at a special event is an asset

Task Requirements: Carrying and lifting; Dexterity and agility; Walking and/or standing; Communication; Reading and Writing

Suitable for: Corporate Teams; Groups of volunteers

Training: Information with meeting spot and staff lead will be provided to all volunteers in advance of event day. Staff member on-site provides additional orientation and training during the event.

Accessibility: Has accessible parking; Has accessible washrooms

The Hollywood Fair is run annually to raise funds for local charities and volunteer groups in West Wicklow. The village of Hollywood is set up as a pre-1950s rural heritage theme for the Fair and this has proved a real hit with people. All in attendance embrace the spirit of the occasion and enjoy the spectacle of seeing each other dressed in pre-1950s attire! Whether it's nostalgia for the past or something else, both the farming community and townspeople alike have been flocking to Hollywood in the last 8 years to be part of the celebration.
In the weeks running up to the Fair the local people come together to make all of the necessary preparations for the Fair including building temporary structures.

Opportunity Details

Help us run a premiere charity golf tournament and help the American Lung Association's mission to improve lung health and prevent lung disease. The Springfield Golf Classic is held at Illini Country Club in Springfield, IL and volunteers are needed in shifts

Morning Hospitality tent or golf course runner 7 00am - 12 00 noon
Afternoon Hospitality tent and golf course runner 1 00pm - 6 00pm (approximate end time)
There are some tasks that will require walking or standing outdoors for long periods, and some tasks that the volunteer will be seated. Mid-June can be very hot, so please consider this before volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old. Golf course dress code applies to volunteers.
