No experience necessary! Just bring enthusiasm for nature and working with children. We will train the right candidates! This position is great for recent college grads interested in gaining experience and retirees.Spring educational programs include:
Farm Tours, Bees and Honey, Nature Discovery Ride, Forest Community, Life Cycles of Plants, Pond Study, Water Life and Woodland Walk.
Fall Programs include: Apples and Cider, First Americans- Foods of the Earth, Native American Tools, Tunxis Indians, Wigwam Adventure and Colonial Cooking.

ELCCT could use administrative support at our Indian Rock Nature Preserve during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9-5. Duties include but are not limited to:1) Answering the phone, which rings for both Indian Rock Nature Preserve and the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center, answering common programmatic, facility and educational questions.
2) Data entry
3) Filing and photocopying
4) Special projects like creating promotional material, updating social media, etc.

Countless children use these trails as they learn about nature and conservation at the Claremont Field Centre education facility. The Plant Exchange (www.theplantexchange.org) encourages reuse, recycling and organic living. This community-wide free event is where gardeners, landscapers, urban farmers, and beginners come to exchange plants, equipment and information about ways to make our urban environment more sustainable, aesthetic, and healthy.Help us set up the day before our semi-annual Plant Exchange from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Volunteers will help:
set up tables
move plants onto tables
assemble signage
label plant donations
prune plants
install temporary fencing
cone off parking areas and
much more!
The time goes quickly and is a lot of fun. Bring a friend and make new ones! All volunteers are invited to a special volunteer appreciation party one week after the exchange event.

Thank you for volunteering to help keep the Victory Garden Urban Farm productive, sustainable, and rewarding for the Harambee Neighborhood and City of Milwaukee. Your involvement is crucial to a successful harvest that brings fresh, healthy, and local produce to Milwaukee residents.By volunteering at Concordia Gardens you can expect to learn, grow, and get your hands dirty! There are several daily and weekly tasks that you can help to accomplish. These include: composting food waste, watering crops, pulling weeds, harvesting produce, planting seeds, digging, mulching, etc.
A Garden Leader will be present at the time of your shift to provide you with objectives and tasks that are to be completed during your volunteer shift.

Are you a tree expert? Are you passionate about keeping trees at their healthiest? Then we could use your help. We are looking for help with the trees at the Victory Garden Urban Farm. We need help identifying currently planted fruit and nut trees, assessing the health of these trees, and working with our farmer to ensure the trees are productive and healthy.We also need help checking in on the health of our many orchards throughout the Milwaukee Area
Reports to: Farm Coordinator
Schedule options: Monday through Saturday; schedule can be determined based upon your availability and the farm coordinators schedule.
Location: Concordia Gardens Urban Farm - 220 E. Concordia Ave. Milwaukee, WI
Qualifications:
Arborist with demonstrated work history and education related to tree care.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly discuss the needs and requirements of current and future tree care.
Passionate about the food system and the connection with fruit and nut trees.
