Position Summary

The Community support Volunteers will generate funds and support in various programs through the development of targeted online and local programs as well as fundraising initiatives involving, crowdfunding, new and developing media and technologies. The Fundraising Officers meet short-term and long-term goals from new and existing sources by developing “best practices” for digital fundraising across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Executive Director of the organisation to work and generate Marketing skills and Communications strategies, the they will focuse on cultivating donations through email acquisitions; online crow funding platforms, organising events, birth days etc new methods of electronic fundraising such as social media and mobile; third-parties; and is responsible for cultivating new donors prospects through newly developing avenues, and generating and managing on collection of funds and remits once the set targets are achieved.

Essential Functions:
The Fundraising Officers are accountable for contributing to World Action Fund financial health and for active collaboration with numerous corporation, and individual donors.
Develops and implements digital fundraising programs (including new and existing e-newsletters and e-renewals), online content monetization, widgets, online application development, second-screen donations, hybrids utilizing traditional mail and on-air techniques, as well as collaboration with local and national, international partners. Supervises delivery of fundraising campaigns across digital, mobile, social media, and developing channels. Provides leadership for improving World Action Fund online fundraising pages and communications on www.worldactionfund.org for projects such as continuing donor development strategy, micro-donations, and other off-air activities.
Manages cultivation of prospects through digital fundraising tools and initiates strategies to foster higher giving levels. Oversees current and ongoing email marketing programs from a fundraising perspective including e-renewals. Key focus on developing email acquisition campaigns for member cultivation directed at new donors and lapsed donors.
Engage individuals, Digital, Development partners to ensure the implementation of key touch points across digital media to foster member cultivation on social media, web, mobile and developing platforms.
Develops standardized digital fundraising procedures and ensures those standards are followed company-wide so that online and digital facing constituents receive a tailored and structured set of online and digital giving opportunities and services.
Works closely with the Executive Director to set performance benchmarks and targets across all digital fundraising channels. Implements user testing techniques to improve response rates and increase donor retention. Evaluates and reports on monthly project accomplishments and budgets.

Works closely with Executive Director, Interactive to analyze and make recommendations regarding the organisation electronic communications strategies to ensure the highest potential level of fundraising cultivation. Also works with the team and to ensure all digital fundraising offers a great user experience, and is created in keeping with the organisation's brand.
Develop and test new initiatives and innovative concepts for public media fundraising.

Knowledge/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years and above experience in progressively in marketing and fundraising roles.
Strong knowledge of current and developing online fundraising strategies, social media, mobile and new technologies.
Must understand “best practices” across multiple platforms and the knowledge base to develop “best practices” for emerging media types.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders globally.
A true team player who understands how to work productively and remotely as own schedule time with no disparate and conflicting goals.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge and strong interest in public media, digital fundraising, marketing and design.

Knowledge of customer relationship management systems (CRM), email service providers, internet applications, and content publishing tools.

Familiarity with a variety of resources to keep up-to-date on the latest news in digital fundraising, marketing, sales, and design.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and goals while working under pressure.

Project management experience in digital media required.

Appreciation for public media’s mission

Knowledge/Experience Desired

Experience within public media online desired but not a requirement, crowd fundraising required.
Experience with graphic design desired, but not required.
Experience with Charity fundraising

What is a Trash Technician? Trash Techs are volunteers that assist the Green Calgary Green Workplace team perform waste assessments, which are a visual process where we determine what is being thrown out within a business. Your role as Trash Tech will be to assist with data recording using trash tracking technology (aka laptop with a spreadsheet). No previous experience is required and training will be provided on-site. Please bring a pair of steel-toed shoes (we have a few pairs available if you don’t have any)

THE FRUIT TREE PLANTING FOUNDATION (FTPF) IS AN AWARD WINNING
INTERNATIONAL NON-PROFIT dedicated to planting fruit trees to alleviate world hunger, combat climate change, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water. FTPF’s Na Piko nursery & eco-retreat center unites the raw power of Hawaii’s natural beauty with a mission to plant fruit trees for local families. Volunteers work and live at the facility, alongside FTPF staff, to grow thousands of trees and assist in the implementation of programs with local schools, state lands for reforestation, and low-income families to ensure they have access to perennial nutrition in their backyards—along with the proper training in their care.

NA PIKO IS LOCATED ON 14 ACRES OF NATURAL JUNGLE IN KAPOHO, 20 minutes from the town of Pahoa, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Set among towering ancient mango trees and nestled against the Nanawale Forest Reserve, this unique land provides a peaceful space for an awakening volunteer experience. With nurtured paths, meadows, and fruit tree nurseries, Na Piko holds six cabins, a house and a custom built two-story lodge built out of trees harvested from the land. Each cabin comfortably houses two people while an abundance of lawn space offers perfect sites for tents.

NA PIKO WAS DESIGNED WITH HARMONY IN MIND. Completely off the grid, we use solar power and pure, filtered rain water. Three kitchens, five bathrooms and internet access ensure home comforts in an environment that supports simplicity and connection with nature. A wonderful open-aired lodge provides the perfect setting for interaction. Minutes away, enjoy world-class reef snorkeling, beach-side volcanically heated swimming holes and steam vents, the world’s most active volcano, state parks, fresh exotic fruits and cuisine, outdoor markets most days of the week, and an eclectic collection of progressive communities.

VOLUNTEER, LEARN & LIVE AT NA PIKO. Na Piko will be home to several fruit tree nurseries as well as the volunteers who help maintain them. These nurseries supply our orchard-planting programs in Hawaii. At least three hours of work per day (five days a week) is required for all volunteers, along with a monthly contribution of $750, which includes a living space, access to shared bathrooms and kitchens, four daylong plant identification and propagation courses taught by our botany professor, ongoing arboricultural training with FTPF staff arborists, and Sunday yoga in the lodge with a vegan group meal provided in the evening. The grounds and kitchen have a vegetarian foods only policy. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and space is very limited. CSNC is looking for volunteers to work in the Camp Creek area (near North South Road and Mormon Emigrant Trail) to block an unauthorized vehicle route that is directly impacting sensitive resources in the Eldorado National Forest. At this location, there is a hill climb and an intrusion into a riparian corridor. We will be scattering duff and small woody debris to protect bare soil and large woody debris to break runoff, reduce sedimentation, and prevent vehicles from entering the sensitive habitat.

We are meeting at the Georgetown Library at 8:30 a.m. and the Placerville Raley's parking lot by the gas station at 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP to let us know if you are attending so we won't leave without you!  We will return by 5 pm. Please dress accordingly for the weather.  Bring plenty of sun protection, such as a hat and a long sleeve shirt, water, a lunch, sturdy shoes or boots, gloves, and anything you might want for a day in the forest. Since we are lucky enough to be near a creek, don't forget a towel!

Want to join FTLOTL's "Padillac" crew?
Experienced paddlers with their own boats team up with FTLOTL's Adopt-A-Shoreline group Kayak Power. Kayak Power goes over Recycling/ Trash 101 for on-water clean-up. Experienced paddlers then help get to trash that cannot be reached from the shore. It's so important in helping to protect children, adults, pets, and wildlife.

Turn Back Time is creating a system of trails on our 58 acre property. These trails provide diversity of exploration for the children attending our program. This increases their time in nature exposure!
