Inspired by Charles Darwin and brought to life by his great-great-grandson, Chris Darwin. The Darwin Challenge app is encouraging a little evolution for the benefit of us all. We are reducing humanity’s consumption of meat to improve global health, stop the destruction of
our forests, slow climate change and save a billion animals per year from the horrors of factory farming. Small acts, BIG impacts.

Our app has taken off like a rocket, growing by 800% over the last 2 years. Half a million meat-free days have been clocked, 7 awards have been won and Sir Paul McCartney has endorsed us.

We are now working on a new, improved version of the app, which will be available on iOS and Android. We are looking for volunteers to give their time as consultants or mentors in the fields of data analytics and competition analysis. Interested? We'd love to hear from you.

**The duration and exact beginning and end of the volunteering opportunity to be confirmed together with the candidates.

We have a facebook page. Doesnt everyone? Maybe not. We might need an Instagram or Twitter account... We probably don't need Tinder, but you are the pro, tell us what it will take to get our hands on #vetsfarm in front of the people who want to see it. We can provide content, but getting online and managing multiple accounts is a lot of fence mending and feeding times that we'd miss. We can share pictures of Mount Rainier, our livestock, and the local elk we are working to conserve, and hope you'll post them everywhere... We, not being online savvy, and having some staffing setbacks due to covid, are looking for a Social Media Pro to work with us to develop content and deliver it to the masses. We also want to include a regular dose of solid content about our neighbors and peers in conservation, agriculture, forestry and ecological design, as well as relevant "feel good" posts- links to articles about better nutrition, relevant veterans issues, best land management practices, and WINS in our peer communities.

Since 2013, FTPF helped pave the way towards a healthier future for Salvadorans by planting and distributing fruit trees throughout the country, including with families, schools, and women’s groups. Working closely with two respected NGOs, SHARE El Salvador and CONFRAS, we have launched a ten-year plan to plant thousands of fruit trees each year. Some families are already supporting themselves through income from their orchards: “We have been able to feed ourselves, make money, and have noticed a change in the environment. Thank you for all the effort you have put in towards the success of our land.” -Don Pedro Juan de Jesus Avarca (pictured) standing next to a mango tree we planted at his home.

We invite you to join us by volunteering for a week-long fruit tree planting eco-adventure every July. Activities include planting trees and interacting with schools and families and learning about best practices from our arborists. On the last day, there is an excursion to reflect and visit some of Central America’s most important historical sites. A select number of volunteers may be invited to join the FTPF to on to the next project in Guatemala. Please indicate if you are interested in the Guatemala portion of this opportunity in your application (available on our website).
